The National Hockey League slate was loaded with close games on Tuesday on the second night back after the All-Star Break. With six games on tap, Let’s take a quick look at last night’s NHL scores games in review with the NHL Tuesday games recap
Sharks at Lightning 
Results: SJ wins 4-3 in OT
NHL Over/Under: 6.5 Over -120, SJ +170/TB -190
Forward Timo Meier scored twice, including the game-winner midway through overtime as the San Jose Sharks upset the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 as +170 road underdogs. Defenseman Erik Karlsson scored a goal and chipped in two assists while goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen made 34 saves on 37 shots faced for his seventh victory of the year. With the loss, Tampa Bay has now dropped four of their last seven contests, while San Jose picked up their third overtime win on the season.
Avalanche at Penguins 
Results: PIT wins 2-1 in OT
NHL Over/Under: 6.5 Under -110, COL -110/PIT -110
The Pittsburgh Penguins outlasted the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 in overtime thanks to a game-winning tally from defenseman Kris Letang, his fifth goal of the season. Colorado outshot the Penguins for most of the first 30 minutes of play, with forward Nathan MacKinnon scoring his 14th goal of the year to give the Avalanche a 1-0 lead. Pens forward Bryan Rust scored his 12th goal on the season to tie the contest with less than four minutes left in regulation. Goaltender Casey DeSmith made 41 saves on 42 shots for his eighth win of the season with starter Tristan Jarry still out with an injury.
Ducks at Blackhawks 
Results: ANA wins 3-2 in OT
NHL Over/Under: 6 Under +100, ANA +105/CHI -125
The Anaheim Ducks picked up two points with a 3-2 overtime win on the road over the Chicago Blackhawks. Forward Frank Vatrano scored two minutes into the extra frame, his 12th goal on the year, to end an eight-game losing streak for Anaheim. Backup goaltender Anthony Stolarz won his fifth game of the season, making 27 saves on 29 shots faced. Forward Jason Dickinson scored a goal and added an assist for Chicago, who have lost four of their last five contests. Goalie Petr Mrazek made 23 saves on 26 shots faced despite the losing effort.

- Goaltender Ilya Sorokin made 32 saves for his second straight shutout and fifth on the year as the New York Islanders beat the Seattle Kraken 4-0. Newly acquired forward Bo Horvat scored his first goal with the Isles, who are now on a four-game winning streak, while Seattle has now lost five on their last eight games.
- Forward Warren Foegele scored two goals while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored his 23rd goal of the year on the power-play as the Edmonton Oilers beat the Detroit Red Wings 5-1 on the road as a favorite. Goalie Jack Campbell made 30 saves on 32 shots faced for the victory. Tyler Bertuzzi and Joe Veleno scored for the Red Wings, who have lost six of their last nine games. Edmonton is currently on a nine-point streak, going 8-0-1 over that span.
- Forwards Phil Kessel, Chandler Stephenson and Will Carrier each picked up a goal and an assist as the Vegas Golden Knights blewout the Nashville Predators 5-1. Adin Hill made just 16 saves on 17 shots faced for his eleventh victory of the year, snapping a four-game losing skid for the Golden Knights.
