The National Hockey League was packed with nine games of action on Valentine’s Day, with no love lost between any of the clubs that battled one another, NHL Tuesday games recap saw plenty of close contests. Let’s take a look at last night’s NHL scores games in review.
Goalie Jake Allen stopped all 22 shots from the Chicago Blackhawks in9 a 4-0 win for the Montreal Canadiens, who are now on a three-game win streak, while Chicago has now lost six of their last eight games overall. Winger Joel Armia chipped in three assists while rookie defenseman Justin Barron scored his second goal of the season, a power-play tally to open the scoring midway into the first period.
Forward David Pastrnak scored his 39th goal with less than 90 seconds left in Overtime to give the Boston Bruins a 3-2 road win over the Dallas Stars as short favorites. “Pasta” also added an assist during regulation on winger Pavel Zacha’s 12th goal of the year. Goaltender Linus Ullmark continues his dominant play between the pipes, making 29 saves on 31 shots faced for his 27th victory this season. Dallas has now lost five of their last seven contests overall.
Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy made 43 saves on 46 shots faced in regulation and overtime, along with two more saves in the shootout as the Tampa Bay Lightning once again extract revenge on the Colorado Avalanche for the second time in a seven-day span, winning 4-3 in the shootout. Avalanche captain Nathan MacKinnon scored his 17th goal of the season, and also added an assist, while goaltender Alexandar Georgiev made 32 saves on 34 shots faced during the first 65 minutes of play, yielding just one goal to winger Steven Stamkos in the shootout. Colorado has now lost four of their last six games overall, while Tampa Bay has won three straight games and eleven of their last fifteen contests.
The Pittsburgh Penguins pick up two points in the Bay Area late Tuesday night, beating the lowly San Jose Sharks 3-1 thanks to a pair of goals scored by Jake Guentzel. Captain Sidney Crosby had three assists while forward Richard Rakell scored a goal and chipped in with two assists. Goalie Casey DeSmith made 38 saves on 39 shots faced for his tenth victory on the season. Forward Timo Meier, who is at the forefront of a lot of trade talks for San Jose, score the lone goal for the Sharks, his 31st of the season.

- Defenseman Ryan Graves scored with 1.4 seconds left in Regulation to give the New Jersey Devils a 3-2 road win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Goaltender Vitek Vanceck made 31 saves on 33 shots faced for his 22nd victory of the year.
- Forward Stefen Noesen scored his tenth goal of the year and added an assist as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Washington Capitals by a 3-2 final. Center Joe Snively scored a goal and an assist for the Caps, who now have lost five of their last eight games. Goalie Frederik Andersen made 34 saves on 36 shots faced for the victory.
- Brayden Schenn scored two goals, and Ivan Barbashev scored a goal and picked up two assists as the St. Louis Blues beat down the Florida Panthers 6-2 as short home underdogs.
- Goaltender Kevin Mandolese made 46 saves on 48 shots in regulation and overtime as the Ottawa Senators beat the New York Islanders 3-2 in a shootout. With the 46 saves, Mandolese made the second-most saves in National Hockey League history that resulted in a win by a goalie making his first appearance.
