Marchand did skate with the team Monday, but his target date for a return is still late November after a double hip surgery.

Until then Montogomery will be more than happy to receive scoring help from guys like rookie 4th-liner Jakub Lauko and veteran Pavel Zacha who is a guy who will give you 10-15 goals a season. No one is benefitting more from the Marchand absence than Zacha who is playing second-line minutes.

Another reason the Panthers and Bruins betting odds are skewed towards Florida is Boston’s loss of defensemen Brandon Carlo (Upper Body) who was placed on IR. Jake DeBrusk (Upper Body) was hurt against the Capitals and is listed as day-to-day. NHL Injuries are clearly the reason why the Panthers are a definitive favorite today.
