St. Louis Could Be Singing the Blues On the Road Yet Again
Blues vs Oilers Odds Favors Host Edmonton to Even Season Series

Edmonton Favored to Add to Recent Run of Success at Home
The NHL schedule makers didn’t do the St. Louis Blues any favors. After playing on the road against a Winnipeg team that took advantage of the opportunity to move back into first place in the Central Division, St. Louis is right back at it with a game at Edmonton. The Blues vs Oilers odds favor host Edmonton to win its 19th home game of the season.
The Oilers are favored for the eighth time in the last nine home contests against St. Louis despite losing their last two games at home to St. Louis.
Looking at NHL futures odds, the Oilers are tied with Colorado at +850 for the best odds to win the Stanley Cup, with the Blues well back at +15000 in the championship odds.
When looking at the current projected NHL playoff bracket, Edmonton would play defending Stanley Cup champion Vegas in the first round of the playoffs. However, Los Angeles is just two points behind Edmonton in the Pacific Division standings. St. Louis is six points out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Those making hockey bets today might want to keep on reading for more on the matchup between the Blues and the Oilers as it is one of the two games on the schedule on Wednesday.

Is Buchnevich Ready to Move?
Few NHL players are being mentioned as often in trade rumors these days than St. Louis winger Pavel Buchnevich.
The 28-year-old is doing his best to drive the asking price up with six goals and one assist over his last six games. That began with a goal and an assist against Edmonton. Keep that in mind when looking at the Blues vs Oilers odds.
While many of his teammates are underachieving this season, Buchnevich is on pace for his third straight 65-point season.
He has three goals and four assists in his last four games against Edmonton and has +250 odds to have at least two points in this game.
Sixteen of the 29 road games for St. Louis went under the total.
McDavid Lending Helping Hand
A former Hart Trophy winner going 10 games in a row without scoring a game might be a cause for concern. However, that is certainly not the case for Edmonton’s Connor McDavid.
Since a shutout loss to Los Angeles, McDavid has 20 assists over his last six games to give him 23 assists in 11 NHL games in February. That is only a pace that projects to 171 assists in an 82-game schedule.
McDavid assisted on all three goals in the loss to St. Louis earlier this month and that is something to consider when it comes to the Blues vs Oilers odds.
Edmonton has the most regulation wins at home in the NHL since the start of January. The Oilers are 8-2-1 as a home favorite during that time and have covered in all eight of those victories.
Last Meeting
When St. Louis won 6-3 at home on Feb. 15, it was the third win in the last four meetings against Edmonton for the Blues. It was also the second consecutive game between these NHL teams to go over the total.
That ended a run of three straight wins by the visiting team in the Edmonton-St. Louis series.
The game featured 68 shots on goal and 11 power-play opportunities, eight by the victorious Blues.
Blues vs Oilers Betting Preview
St. Louis has been outscored 14-4 while dropping its last three road games and is 13-15-1 on the road this season. The Blues are 9-11-1 as the road underdog so this might not be an easy night at the office for the Blues.
Edmonton is 31-17-2 as a favorite this season.
When making NHL predictions, keep in mind that the Oilers have covered in 15 of 28 home games.
The total has gone over in six of the last nine road games for the Blues with the total set at 6.5 goals for this matchup.
St. Louis did get some good news as defenseman Justin Faulk returned to the ice for the first time in more than a month. He played nearly 21 minutes and had three shots on goal in the loss to Winnipeg. Both teams are in good shape from an NHL injury standpoint heading into this matchup.
The total has gone over in six of Edmonton’s last eight games.
Fourteen of the Oilers’ last 20 games in February landed over the total.
Go with the Oilers, who are 10 games over .500 at home this season, to add to the road woes for the Blues.
