Last night’s NHL scores show a split right down the middle between favorites and underdogs (5-5). The NHL standings 2022-2023 got a little tighter in the Metro Division with the New Jersey Devils sending a clear message to the Carolina Hurricanes that they are not ready to concede the division just yet.
The Devils pulled within two points of the division leaders who have now lost four straight games, all as favorites. New Jersey only put 22 shots on net with four of them getting by ‘Canes netminder Pyotr Kochetkov, in addition to an empty netter to seal the deal.
Carolina plays at Columbus tomorrow, while the Devils start a 4-game West Coast trip against the Anaheim Ducks, Friday.
It was the Jason Robertson show once again for the Dallas Stars, after opening the scoring in the first period to give the Stars an early 1-0 lead and then wristing one past Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin in the shootout to give the Stars the 2-1 win.
The game saw Islanders centerman Mathew Barzal return to the line-up after being out against the Calgary Flames with a lower-body injury. Barzal played just under 22 minutes, recording just two shots. The bettors got this one right with the line moving from -116 to Dallas -116.
The Minnesota Wild losing streak has now reached three games after a 4-3 shootout loss to the New York Rangers.

The Kraken has finally shed their expansion team skin while creeping to within four points of the Vegas Golden Knights for the top spot. This is one game bettors got wrong, at least on the side with 98% of the money line money wagered coming in on Buffalo.
Players did get some measure of revenge with a direct hit on the over after 95% of the tickets were on the correct side of the total. The game turned out to be the heaviest wagered on match-up on the Tuesday schedule.
