Will Colorado’s Potent Offense Bounce Back?
Stars vs Avalanche Predictions Have Colorado Tying it Up

The Dallas Stars made a statement in Game 3 against the Colorado Avalanche who looked unbeatable heading into the game. Still, many Stars vs Avalanche predictions have Colorado coming out on top for Game 4 as a -132 favorite. The total is 6.5 (under -115).
The Stars flexed their first-line muscles behind two goals from Logan Stankoven while their depth was also on display. Tyler Seguin contributed on a game-winner to give Dallas a 2-1 lead. The NHL schedule today is light but Game 4 should provide plenty of entertainment.

There’s Plenty For Dallas To Work On
We won’t go into a long diatribe about depth again, but as the series progresses it’s apparent that this series is all about the Avalanche top line against the top nine for the Stars.
Dallas may be gaining momentum in the series most important area and that’s confidence. As you watch the series progress you can start to feel which team has grabbed momentum, and which club is skating with Stanely Cup arrogance.
The Stars need to make life more uncomfortable for Avs goaltender Alexander Georgiev after putting just 21 shots on net while Jake Oettinger was forced to make 28 saves in the victory.
With the game three victory, Pete DeBoer’s team has crawled into the black for bettors with 0.88 units won, while bringing their 3-year playoff mark to 19-17 (+0.02 units).
As a dog, Dallas evened their 2024 record up at 1-1 (+0.14 units) and 7-8 (+0.99 units) since 2022. The Stars Stanley Cup odds are now +350 (2nd choice), while Colorado increased to +900 (4th choice).
Colorado Suffocated Stars For Two Periods
If you would tell us before a regular season game that an NHL team would hold another to just 13 shots through two periods, we would be left hoping that’s the side we bet on. Life is different in the postseason.
Teams will sit on a one-goal lead by paying more attention to shot blocking, space on the ice, and getting sticks in passing lanes more than they would in the regular season.
The Avalanche proved they were willing to play defensive hockey while facing two one-goal deficits while hoping to create offense off a harassing defense.
While the Stars may have skated with confidence with the puck, it was Colorado who seemed in position to protect Georgiev until the third period when Dallas managed 10 shots while scoring twice. As a handicapper, we must take note of the game’s momentum as much as who won or lost.
For handicappers, it’s a battle of whether or not the Stars can continue to keep one of the NHL’s scoring leaders Nathan MacKinnon from finding the back of the net or is banking on a team that held the Dallas firepower to 23 total shots the better play.
Odds Show Slight Lean To Avalanche
Using -130 as the home-ice advantage barometer, we see that the oddsmakers are giving a slight lean to Colorado in game four. It appears that bettors are torn with just 53% of the early money line money coming in on Colorado while 53% of the puck-line cash (+1.5) is on Dallas.
The number hasn’t budged since opening and we expect that to continue. We’re going to agree with the oddsmakers and bet that Colorado hasn’t lost an ounce of confidence despite being down in the series.
They will play with a greater sense of urgency because a loss will be devastating with the series heading back to Dallas. That does it for our Stars vs Avalanche prediction preview, all the best with your NHL pick and parlays tonight.
