Serbia And Germany Set To Fight For The Bronze Medal

Men's Bronze Medal Basketball Odds, Predictions and More

The Men’s Bronze Medal basketball odds have Serbia as the slight favorite to grab the bronze. Germany aims to secure its first-ever Olympic medal in men’s basketball when they face Serbia in the bronze medal match at the Paris Olympics.

The German team, whose best Olympic finish was seventh place in Barcelona in 1992, suffered a narrow defeat against France in the semifinals. Despite a strong start to the tournament with an average winning margin of 15 points in their first four games, they couldn’t overcome the French defense.

Serbia, the silver medalist in the Rio Olympics, is seeking its second Olympic basketball medal since gaining independence. They fell short in their semifinal match against the United States.

Germany’s offensive firepower is led by NBA stars Franz Wagner and Dennis Schroder. Wagner, a rising star, has been the team’s leading scorer, averaging 18.6 points per game. Schroder, a seasoned veteran, provides scoring and playmaking abilities. Their consistent performances have been crucial to Germany’s success.

Serbia boasts a formidable duo of Nikola Jokic and Bogdan Bogdanovic. Jokic, a three-time NBA MVP, has showcased his all-around skills with impressive scoring, rebounding, and assists. Bogdanovic’s scoring ability has complemented Jokic’s playmaking, forming a potent offensive combination.

  • The bronze medal game is scheduled for 5 a.m. ET, with Serbia favored to win -2.5. Serbia is -140 to win the game straight up and Germany is +105. The projected total points for the game is 170.5.

After what Serbia showed in the semifinals against the United States we like them to grab the bronze medal, but let’s look deeper at the Men’s Bronze Medal basketball odds to see who can grab the last spot on the podium.

Germany Looking To Medal

Germany’s quest for its first Olympic basketball gold medal ended with a heartbreaking loss to host nation France. Despite a strong showing throughout the tournament, the German team could not solve the French squad, falling short in the semifinals.

The Germans are the recent winners of the FIBA World Cup Final. They were favored to beat France (as they did earlier in the tournament), but couldn’t get things going offensively. Franz Wagner was held to just 10 points and Germany’s leading scorer, Dennis Schroder, had 18 points but needed 18 shots. Germany will look to redeem themselves against Serbia.

Germany came into the tournament with high hopes after their surprise World Cup title. Now they will need to.

Serbia Wants Back On The Podium

The Paris Olympics schedule gave Serbia a tough draw as they had to face the dominant Team USA in their semifinal game. Serbia pushed Team USA to the brink in a thrilling down-to-the-wire matchup. Led by Nikola Jokic’s 17 points and 11 assists, and Bogdan Bogdanovic’s 20 points, Serbia dominated much of the game. A blistering first quarter saw them build a double-digit lead, which they extended to 13 points heading into the final period.

  • Despite a strong fourth-quarter surge from Team USA, featuring key contributions from Joel Embiid and Steph Curry, Serbia’s resilience kept the game close. Ultimately, Curry’s offensive explosion and defensive lockdown proved decisive for the Americans.

Serbia didn’t quite have the talent around their star Nikola Jokic to weather the late surge from the US. They will play a much more containable team in Germany for the bronze medal.

While Serbia’s performance was impressive, the narrow victory for Team USA solidified their status as overwhelming favorites for the gold medal. The game was enough to prove Serbia was the favorite for bronze.

Germany vs Serbia Last Matchup

The last time these two teams matched up it was for the Fiba World Cup Final and Germany got the best of Serbia 83-77. The championship game between them defied expectations as both teams had been considered underdogs entering the tournament. The first half was a closely contested battle, with the lead changing hands multiple times. Serbia managed to gain a slight advantage heading into the second half.

However, Germany seized control in the third quarter, establishing a double-digit lead. Serbia mounted a determined comeback, but Germany held on in the final minutes to secure a thrilling victory. Dennis Schroder‘s outstanding performance, including a crucial layup in the final seconds, propelled Germany to its first-ever World Cup title.

Schroder’s exceptional play earned him tournament MVP honors, while his teammate Franz Wagner also contributed significantly to the win. Serbia’s Bogdan Bogdanovic and Aleksa Avramovic led their team’s scoring efforts in a valiant but unsuccessful attempt to secure the championship.

The Men’s bronze medal basketball odds believe that Serbia will get their revenge in the bronze medal game and we believe in their ability to get things done. With Jokic they can win any game they play and they should be fired up from an amazing showing against the United States, the Olympics 2024 odds on favorite to win gold.
