USA An Overwhelming Olympic Medal Count Favorite

Long-Shot Japan+5500 to Lead Overall Medal Count, Germany at +12000

Before we begin, we’re compelled to say that we would be shocked if anyone but the United States (-1100) won the overall medal count but our job is to look at a few long shots to root for while the U.S. and China (+1100) battle it out at the top.

To give a short history lesson, the United States has competed in the Summer Olympics 28 times winning 2,629 medals or just under 94 per Olympics. To give an idea of how dominant that is, you would have to combine the total number of medals won by the Soviets (1010), Great Britain (916), and France (751) to eclipse America’s total medal count or the Soviets (395), Great Britain (284), China (263), and France (751) to surpass the United States’ 1061 gold medals won.

It’s been 12 years since the U.S. has failed to win the overall medal count. The 2024 Paris Olympic schedule starts July 26th. To talk about the 2024 Olympic medal count prop and pretend the States or perhaps China will not be on top is fools gold especially with Russia not participating due to their attack on Ukraine, but with a straight face, we’ll do our best.

At +5500, Why Not Take A Shot With Japan

The Japanese just beat the United States in football, kind of, so we suppose anything can happen although we’ve been gently throwing a few small pigs a couple of inches off the ground to see if they’d take flight!

There have been analytical-driven sites that predict that Japan will get 46 total medals or 77 fewer than the United States but that shouldn’t prevent us from throwing a few dollars at our friends to the West, or East depending on how you view the globe.

Gymnast Daiki Hashimoto and judoka Hifumi and wrestlers Akari Fujinami and Tsugumi Sakurai are expected to take home gold medals making them an interesting Olympic betting prop wager.

The Public Is Better Off Leaning on Total Medal Props

Canada is always fun to root for which is why we’ve searched for a Canadian props and the best we could find was a gold medal option with a total of 5.5 (over -138).

We anticipate they’ll go over the total with the Paris games expected to be one of their best showings ever. Summer McIntosh is expected to take home two gold medals in swimming, alongside 800m runner Marco Arop, Decathlete Pierre LePage; judoka Christina Deguchi, and B-Boy Phil Wizard who is expected to win the first gold ever in breaking, to think we have to fight for baseball as a legit sport on the Olympics!

The Rest Of The Props to Add to Paris Betting Schedule

The host country, France, has an over/under medal total of 24.5 (over -114) while Australia is listed at 13.5 (over -132). We think the numbers on both countries are low making an over wager an option.

As far as bankroll-friendly options, there will be a decent battle in the men’s 600-meter race between Kishane Thompson of Jamaica (+155) and Noah Lyles of the United States (+170). A wager on Lyles is our recommendation as is Raj Benjamin (USA) in the men’s 400-meter race +175.

Karsten Warholm (Nor) is the favorite but anytime we can get an American athlete in Track and Field at a decent price we’re going to jump on it. That does it for our 2024 Paris Olympic medal prop preview, all the best with your Summer Games wagers.
