USA Women’s Team Best Chance to Medal Rugby Sevens
Keep an Eye on the Women's 2024 Olympic Rugby Odds

The Paris Olympics is right around the corner and we look at the men’s and women’s betting markets. The 2024 Olympic rugby odds give Team USA a chance to win gold in both divisions, but the women’s team has a much better chance.
However, beating the likes of New Zealand, France, Fiji, and Australia – the heavyweights of the rugby world – will be difficult.

Can the USA Steal Gold?
We don’t give the men much chance of winning gold in Paris, but there is room for an upset in the women’s division.
- New Zealand is the +105 favorite, and we’ll touch on that later, but the USA is +2200 to win gold and it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
The USA has played well at times, and it’s improving steadily. It was right around the mark in Japan, and it only takes one more win to play for a medal.
The Women’s Eagles are paying juicy odds to win gold, and the +2200 is worth having a nibble.
They’re good enough to exit their pool on top, and that should give them an easier run through the knockout stages.
If the likes of New Zealand and Australia slip up, the USA could be there to pounce and provide bettors with a bang.
“As we approach the final stages of preparation, our focus is on refining every aspect of our game. We are particularly emphasizing mental flexibility and resilience, knowing these qualities will be critical in Paris,” coach Emilie Bydwell said.
“Our goal is not just to compete, but to move the jersey forward, leaving a legacy for those to follow and to deliver a performance that inspires American fans.”

Kiwis Eye Double Gold
The New Zealanders have been in fine form in 2024, often taking home the tournament win for both men and women.
The Kiwi women are +105 favorites to win gold, and although we have included the USA in our 2024 Olympic rugby odds, we’re putting New Zealand on top.
They have been the best team by some margin this year, winning the major tournaments, and they have experience winning medals at both the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games.
The Paris Olympics should be right up their alley, so include New Zealand Women at +105, and have a parlay with the Kiwi men.
- The men are paying much better odds of +350. They have been playing well, and although they’re not as consistent as the women’s team, bettors get better odds for the risk.
The Kiwi Men are used to winning Olympic medals, and the pressure won’t get to the rugby-loving nation.
Beating France won’t be easy, with France being the +225 favorites. However, if the best New Zealand team turns up, it’s easily good enough to win.
Fiji Men Coming for Gold
Once an unstoppable force in rugby sevens, Fiji have eyed 2024 Olympic dates for some time now.
Once they get their tail between their legs, they are awfully tough to stop, and the Fijian runaway train could be in full force in Paris.
- The 2024 Olympic rugby odds have the Fijian Men at +500 to win gold, and those odds are much better than we expected.
They have the brute strength and speed to overcome any team in rugby sevens, and although they’re not in the best form, it doesn’t always matter in this sport.
If we’re having a saver bet, we’re backing Fiji confidently to win gold, and we expect the odds to firm closer to game time.
Fiji is celebrated in the world of sevens, and there will be a lot of crowd support in Paris.
France is the favorite because they’re playing in front of their home fans. It has played well in 2024, and it’s much improved over the last two years, but we can’t justify the +225 odds.
That’s far too short for France, so back New Zealand and Fiji to win the men’s sevens.
