AC Milan vs Fiorentina Head-to-Head

On last season’s Serie A schedule, the home team won both meetings of this fixture by a 2-1 scoreline. In fact, the home team has won the last four AC Milan vs Fiorentina matches. Plus, the Rossoneri are on a three-game winning streak vs Fiorentina at the San Siro. Just one of the last 11 meetings have finished in a draw.

AC Milan’s Entire Front Three Could be Out on Saturday

AC Milan are going through a rough patch. Coach Stefano Pioli is on the hot seat as the Rossoneri have gone winless in their last four Serie A games. They’ve been an inconsistent pick for soccer betting this season as Milan are also 1-2-1 in the UEFA Champions League. Before the international break, Milan took a 2-0 lead at Lecce.

Olivier Giroud got on the scoresheet for the seventh time in Serie A this season and Tijjani Reijnders scored his first goal for the club. At halftime, it looked like Milan would cruise to a win but Lecce came back with a vengeance. Nicola Sansone and Lameck Banda brought Lecce back level and Giroud got sent off in stoppage time. So, the Rossoneri had to settle for a draw and Giroud will miss this match vs Fiorentina.

Along with Giroud, Rafael Leao will miss out on this match. The dynamic left winger is expected to return in early December. Fellow winger Christian Pulisic has returned to training but is nursing a thigh injury. So, it’s possible that none of Milan’s front three start this match. Along with those three, Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu and Simon Kjaer and Ismael Bennacer are also injured. Regardless, the AC Milan vs Fiorentina soccer lines currently price the Rossoneri as even money favorites.

Fiorentina Break Losing Streak

Fiorentina weren’t at their best on Matchday 12 when they hosted Bologna at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. The Viola had to defend for long stretches of the match but they did manage to pick up a 2-1 victory. Giacomo Bonaventura’s career renaissance continued as the 34-year old midfielder scored Fiorentina’s opener. Bologna equalized on a penalty and Nicolas Gonzalez put the Viola ahead again in the second half on a penalty of his own.

The hosts held on for a 2-1 victory, their sixth of the season so far. Fiorentina broke a three-game losing streak with the win. They have conceded at least one goal in each of their last five matches and have conceded the most of any Serie A teams top half thus far. Offensively, they’ve been solid as only Roma, Napoli and Inter Milan have scored more.

Gonzalez is third in the Serie A stats with six goals, while Bonaventura is tied for seventh, with five. Bonaventura also leads the league with eight successful through balls. Fiorentina, who reached the Coppa Italia and UEFA Europa Conference League finals last season, are unbeaten in the Conference League group stage, with a 2-2-0 record. Note that the Viola have failed to score in three of their last four matches.

Match Analysis & Odds

The AC Milan vs Fiorentina soccer lines currently price Milan as even money ATS and moneyline favorites, while Fiorentina are +280 underdogs. Milan coach Pioli will have to get creative with his lineup. Assuming Pulisic can suit up, he, Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze should make up the front three. Leao and Giroud will be missed as they’ve combined for 10 of Milan’s 20 goals this season.

Bettors can take a draw at +255, but the last six meetings have all finished with a winner. Both teams will feel like the three points are for the taking and don’t expect the Viola to back down to Milan. The last five matches between these teams averaged four goals per game. Milan have outscored Fiorentina 11-9 during that time. With Milan’s front line hampered by injuries and suspensions, under 2.5 goals are priced at -120 odds.
