Coppa Italia Finals Odds & Preview: Both Sides Excelling in Cup Competitions
Inter vs Fiorentina in Italy’s Domestic Cup Final

Both Sides Excelling in Cup Competitions
While Napoli took home the 2022-23 Serie A title, Inter Milan can still finish the season with three trophies. The Nerazzurri won the Supercoppa Italiana final over rivals AC Milan in January and will take on Manchester City in June’s Champions League final. Inter and Fiorentina will head down to Rome to contest the Coppa Italia final this Wednesday. Defending champions Inter could win back-to-back Coppa Italia finals for the first time since 2010-11. Fiorentina are not to be taken lightly, though, as they’ve also reached the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League. With two successful cup teams on display, we’ll preview the Coppa Italia Finals odds.
Coppa Italia Final
Head-to-Head
Fiorentina and Inter split their Serie A matches in 2022-23. Fiorentina picked up a 1-0 win at the San Siro in April, their first road win on the Serie A schedule vs. Inter since 2015. Inter won a seven-goal shootout in Florence last October. Inter have come away with a win in five of the previous seven meetings. Plus, the Nerazzurri knocked out Fiorentina in the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Coppa Italia. The all-time Coppa Italia series is tied at 5-3-5.
High Stakes for Fiorentina
- Semifinal Result: 2-0 agg. W vs. Cremonese
- Key Injuries: M/F Riccardo Saponara (Day-to-Day)
Fiorentina have two routes into next season’s Europa League. The Viola can book a place in the group stage with a win over Inter on Wednesday. Or, they can seal qualification with a win over West Ham in June’s UEFA Europa Conference League final. Last week, Fiorentina got a 3-1 extra-time win to defeat Swiss club FC Basel 4-3 on aggregate. Nicolas Gonzalez scored twice in the match, and he’s been a standout all season. The Viola are in 11th place in Serie A but have been excellent in cup competitions.
To advance to the Coppa Italia final, Fiorentina beat Cremonese 2-0 on aggregate. They also previously knocked out Sampdoria and Torino. The Viola have kept three clean sheets in four Coppa Italia matches this season. The Coppa Italia Finals odds currently price Fiorentina as +150 underdogs to lift the trophy.
Fiorentina last won the Coppa Italia in 2001, their last major trophy win. The Viola reached the semifinal stage last season, but Juventus eliminated them. Arthur Cabral leads Fiorentina with 16 goals this season, in all competitions. Cabral, Gonzalez, Jonathan Ikone, and Luka Jovic are deep in attack. Vincenzo Italiano also gave key players Gonzalez and Sofyan Amrabat a rest on Sunday ahead of Wednesday’s final.
Inter in Running for Treble
- Semifinal Result: 2-1 agg. W vs. Juventus
- Key Injuries: D Milan Skriniar (Out), M Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Out),
Inter Milan may have lost out on the Serie A title to Napoli, but they can still win a treble this season. Simone Inzaghi’s side have already won the Supercoppa Italiana and are favorites for Wednesday’s Coppa Italia final. They’re underdogs for June’s Champions League final vs. Manchester City but did well to knock out AC Milan in the semifinals. Inter kept shutouts in both legs vs. the Rossoneri and won 3-0 on aggregate. The Nerazzurri also advanced to the Coppa Italia final with a 2-1 aggregate win over Juventus.
In the quarterfinals, Inter took down Atalanta 1-0, and they defeated Gianluigi Buffon and Parma 2-1 in the round of 16. Inter’s strikers Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku have been in good form lately. Martinez is second in the Serie A stats with 20 goals this season and scored in the UCL semifinal second leg vs. AC Milan.
Inter have scored the second-most goals in Serie A this season. Only Napoli have found the net more times than the Nerazzurri in 2022-23. Over their last seven matches, in all competitions, Inter have averaged three goals per game. Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana has also kept the most clean sheets in the Champions League this seasonChampions League this season as well. He and the Inter defense have kept four clean sheets in their last six matches.
Match Analysis and Odds
Wednesday’s Coppa Italia Finals odds price Inter as -200 favorites to come away with back-to-back titles. Last season, Inter defeated Juventus 4-2 in extra time for their first Coppa Italia trophy since 2011. With the expansion of the Supercoppa Italiana starting next season, both teams will qualify for the competition. Regardless, Inter Milan are even money favorites to cover the spread and win the match in normal time. Meanwhile, Fiorentina +½ comes in at -130 odds and they’re unbeaten in their last three matches. The Viola also display +260 odds to win the match in 90 minutes.
The Nerazzurri marked an eighth straight match with a win when they won the Derby della Madonnina over AC Milan last Tuesday. However, they fell 3-1 to Napoli on Sunday as Simone Inzaghi started a team of mostly reserves. Inter are 3-0 in cup finals with Inzaghi at the helm and a win would mean two straight seasons with multiple trophies. Fiorentina’s trophy case has been bare for quite some time but this is a team that can compete with most anyone over the course of a single match.
A draw would mean the match goes into two 15-minute extra time periods. A deadlock currently sits at +250 odds but draws have been incredibly infrequent for Inter this season. The Nerazzurri have drawn just three of their 36 Serie A matches this season. There won’t be any home-field advantage on Wednesday as the match will take place at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Both teams to score are priced at -125 odds but under 2½ goals show -125 odds for Wednesday’s match.
