FIO Fiorentina vs Torino TOR

Day/Time:
Location: Stadio Artemio Franchi, Florence, Italy

Head-to-Head

This is the first chance to take the Fiorentina vs Torino odds this season.Last season’s Serie A scores between Fiorentina and Torino were quite close and low-scoring. Torino won on the road at Fiorentina as Aleksei Miranchuk scored the game’s only goal. The two sides also drew 1-1 in the reverse fixture. In between, Fiorentina defeated Torino 2-1 in the Coppa Italia Quarter-finals. Torino are unbeaten in their last three Serie A games vs Fiorentina and have lost just one of the last five.

Fiorentina Missing Two Key Players

Fiorentina’s victory over Monza last Friday wasn’t pretty but the Viola were thrilled with picking up all three points on the road. In the seventh minute, Monza keeper Michele Di Gregorio gifted Fiorentina with a goal. He played a pass that Lucas Beltran stuck a foot out at and it deflected into the back of the net. Fiorentina’s Jonathan Ikone had a golden chance just a couple of minutes later but a Monza player made an excellent goal line clearance to stop a second goal.

Both teams had chances but the match finished 1-0 in favor of Fiorentina, who are unbeaten in their last four Italy Serie A games . Fiorentina have kept three shutouts in their last four matches and are now in the thick of the top four race. The fifth-placed Viola are just one point behind Bologna and three points behind third-placed AC Milan.

January’s Serie A schedule looks manageable, apart from a matchup vs leaders Inter Milan. Bettors should recall Fiorentina’s deep cup runs last season under Vincenzo Italiano. They advanced to both the Coppa Italia and UEFA Europa Conference League final.

Fiorentina are not an easy side to beat and they can compete with most anyone in Serie A. So far, both Giacomo Bonaventura and Nicolas Gonzalez have scored six league goals apiece to lead the team. However, both Serie A players are out injured for this match, along with Gaetano Castrovilli, Dodo and Lucas Martinez.

Goals Rare for Torino

Torino are on a four-game Serie A unbeaten streak of their own heading into Friday’s match at Fiorentina. They’ve conceded just three times in their last five league games but are still a mid table side.

At 6-6-5 this season, Torino are currently in 10th place and the goals haven’t exactly been pouring in. In fact, they’ve scored fewer than one goal per game so far. I Granata have found the net just 15 times in 17 Serie A games.

That means they haven’t exactly been a great pick for soccer betting in 2023-24, though the under has been hitting more often than not in their matches.

Their games have averaged a league low 1.88 goals and Duvan Zapata leads the team with four goals. In their most recent match, Torino fell behind 1-0 to Udinese late in the second half. Ivan Ilic scored an 88th minute equalizer to preserve a point for the hosts.

Torino have won just two of their eight road matches so far in 2023-24 and are 2-2-4 away from home. Their last road win was two months ago at Lecce and it’s no surprise that Torino are underdogs here.

As they try to extend their unbeaten run to five games, Perr Schuurs, and Ange N’Guessan are out injured.

Match Analysis & Odds

With two of their most productive players out, Fiorentina have less than a 50 percent implied chance to win this match at home.

Sans Bonaventura and Gonzalez, Fiorentina come in at +115 moneyline odds. The Fiorentina vs Torino odds also list visiting Torino as +250 underdogs and they did snatch all three points last season at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Goals have been hard to come by for both sides in recent weeks but over two goals currently display -150 odds. Fiorentina have scored just once in each of their last four matches, in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Torino have conceded just once in their last four matches, which includes a win over Atalanta.

Bettors can take a draw at +230 in Serie A odds in a match where good chances may come at a premium. Fiorentina -0.5 also sits at +115, while Torino +0.5 is priced at -135. Notably, Torino have only found the net six times in eight away games in 2023-24 so far.
