Roma vs Atalanta Game Preview Analysis

The Italian Serie A is getting close to the end, heading toward its 28th week of the season with only 11 more weeks to go. Roma vs Atalanta betting information is here and they are some of the top 10 teams that still have a fair shot at the top four places in the standings. As a result, the battle for a Champions League spot will only get hotter and crazier.

AS Roma are currently in sixth, six points out of fourth place. All hope is not lost, but Roma’s chances of Champions League football next season is hanging by a thread.

AS Roma are having a turbulent season, as they cannot hold a good run of form. We’ve seen how good José Mourinho’s side can be, but sometimes they can’t inflict real damage on opponents, costing them precious points. If that isn’t solved quickly, they might lose their place on any of the European spots on the league table.

On the other hand, Atalanta is closer to the top four, a game in hand with a three-point deficit. As a result, securing a spot in the top four is entirely in their hands, though it’s not given. Traveling to Rome, they need their “A” game to get the maximum number of points.

In addition, Roma’s visit to Bergamo was humiliating for Atalanta, as they fell to a marauding AS Roma side, 4-1. This is their chance to exert revenge, and with their European spot at stake; it’s a game they need.

Although Atalanta have had good moments this season, they haven’t been as convincing as they used to be. First, it was the fall off from the UCL group stages, even though they were favorites to go to the knockout. Even though it looks bad, there’s a good chance they can revive their season and seal a top-four spot.

With Europa and Conference League matches back on the 10th of the month, Mourinho and Gasperini have their work cut out. They need to decide if they’re going to rest players for their respective European matches, or go all in for a chance at European football next season.

With Duván Zapata and Josip Iličić injured for Atalanta, and Pietro and Spinazzola out for Roma, both teams would miss critical players. However, we expect to see the same squads from their last matches, where each team won, though Roma had to do it in the 90th minute with a Tammy Abraham penalty.

Undoubtedly, both managers would want to prioritize the league game, as it can be a turning point for their seasons. In that case, their upcoming European matches would not stop us from getting a thrilling match between two top Italian teams.

AS Roma vs Atalanta betting preview here, they are both free-flowing attacking teams with an eye for goals. Atalanta ranks third and Roma fourth in scoring, with a combined 95 goals this season. They know how to score, and there is a good chance for multiple goals in this game.

However, since this is a critical match, they might want to take a more conservative approach, as not to concede more than they can score. We might not get too many goals as in the first leg which ended with five goals.

The spread is very tight, but Roma is being tipped as the favorites to win, which is justified since they have the better form and a lot more at stake.
