Serie A Matchday 10 Odds: Preview, Breakdown, Best Bets

Wide Open Title Race Shaping Up

Napoli on a Tear

Napoli are not just looking like the best team in Serie A, they look like one of the best teams in Europe. The Partenopei are on a nine-game winning streak in all competitions and are currently on top of the Serie A table. All of Atalanta, Lazio, Udinese and AC Milan are within three points of them. So, it could certainly be a wide open title race this season. One that Juventus are finding it hard to insert themselves in. Let’s take a look at Juve’s predicament and the rest of the relevant Serie A Matchday 10 odds.

Games of the Week:

Torino vs. Juventus,

The home side shows +220 odds to win in this pick’em. Both teams have scored in just 33 percent of Juve matches this season but 1-1 is implied to be the most likely scoreline. It’s listed at +500 odds, while over two goals is priced at -140 odds.

Juventus are in dire straits. They lost 2-0 to AC Milan last week then basically sealed their exit from the Champions League midweek. They lost 2-0 at Maccabi Haifa and the calls for Max Allegri to be sacked were deafening. Chairman Andrea Agnelli reiterated that Allegri will move forward as the coach but things are not looking good. They’re currently in eighth place in the Serie A standings, with just one win in their last five matches.

Now, Juve take on intra city rivals Torino in the Derby della Mole. This was a low scoring fixture last season as they drew 1-1 at the Allianz Stadium. Juve won 1-0 at Torino’s home, the Stadio Olimpico di Torino. Despite their poor form, Juve are +135 favorites heading into Saturday’s match. “The Old Lady” has been dreadful on the road, with no wins, two losses and two draws. Torino haven’t been much better at home, with just one win in four matches.

Atalanta vs. Sassuolo:

Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta are one of just two squads with an unbeaten record this season. With six wins and three draws, La Dea are in second place. They share the best defensive record in the league with Lazio and have conceded just five goals so far. On Saturday, they’ll host a Sassuolo side that recently put five goals on Salernitana.

Atalanta are -150 favorites heading into Saturday. Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman has scored in consecutive matches but Atalanta blew a lead on Sunday. They were leading Udinese 2-0 in the second half but conceded twice in quick succession in a draw.

Sassuolo have scored in their last four matches and the Serie A Matchday 10 odds price them at -210 odds to find the net again. At 3-3-3, Sassuolo are a tad inconsistent but a dangerous opponent. They’re priced at +395 odds to win.

Lazio vs. Udinese:

Since losing 5-1 to FC Midtjylland in the Europa League in September, Lazio have looked like a different team. Heading into their Thursday Europa League match with Sturm Graz, Lazio have kept four straight shutouts. Italy Serie And scorers show that they’ve managed two straight 4-0 wins. Now, they host Udinese in a top four matchup.

Udinese have been one of the biggest surprises in the league this season. The Friulians are unbeaten in their last eight matches and have proven to be a resilient side. Beto has led the way with five goals but Udinese are +225 underdogs. Last season, both Serie A meetings ended in draws and another is priced at +260 odds.

Lazio, +120 favorites, have a handful of Serie A league leaders on their roster. Ciro Immobile is tied for the league lead, with six goals. Meanwhile, midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić-Savic leads the league with seven assists and Ivan Provedel has kept a joint-league leading five clean sheets.

Napoli vs. Bologna:

Napoli have beaten even the most optimistic expectations for them. Winger Kvicha Kvaratshkelia has become must-watch TV with his effortless gliding past defenders. The Partenopei have scored at least three goals in five of their last six matches in all competitions. The Serie A Matchday 10 odds now price Napoli at -380 odds to defeat a struggling Bologna side on Sunday.

Bologna are winless on the road this season and have just one win in Serie A. They’re +1100 underdogs heading into Sunday and lost twice to Napoli last season. In fact, Napoli have won the last four meetings. The spread is set at 1½ and Napoli have won their last two Serie A matches by two or more goals.

It seems likely that it’ll happen again, as Napoli show -130 odds to cover. The Partenopei beat Ajax 4-2 on Wednesday and have dominated the Champions League so far. They’ve got two wins over Ajax and another win over Liverpool so far.

Other Games of Interest

Inter Milan were just minutes away from a signature win at Barcelona on Wednesday, however, Robert Lewandowski equalized and Inter came away with just a point. It’s still a great result and they’ll hope to continue their momentum into Sunday’s match vs. Salernitana. After pulling off a great escape last season, Salernitana have been a respectable team this season. They managed a late winner vs. Verona and are now +900 underdogs at Inter. The Serie A Matchday 10 odds price Inter at -325 odds to win consecutive games for just the second time this season.

Hellas Verona are languishing in the relegation zone and now they’ve got a tough match vs. AC Milan. The defending champions should be motivated after two straight losses to Chelsea in the Champions League. An injury riddled Milan side shows a -180 price to win on Sunday.

Sampdoria are also in the relegation zone. In fact, they’re in last place and are one of only two clubs without a win this season. They take on Jose Mourinho’s Roma on Monday. Roma will be licking their chops at this matchup and have been one of the league’s best away teams this season. Roma are -140 favorites and Sampdoria are priced at +440 odds to win their first match this season.
