Serie A Matchday 11 Odds: Preview, Breakdown, Best Bets

Marquee Top-Five Matchups Headline Weekend

Super Sunday in Serie A

It’s been all about SSC Napoli so far in the 2022-23 Serie A season. The first place Partenopei will take a six-game winning streak into Matchday 11. Even with Napoli’s dominance, five other teams are within five points of them in the table. Four of the top six teams will face off this weekend in a Serie A super Sunday. We’ll preview those and other important Serie A Matchday 11 matches and betting odds.

Games of the Weekend:

Juventus FC fans have been an angry bunch this season but at least they can take a bit of solace in last weekend’s derby win over Torino. Dusan Vlahovic was the matchwinner as Juve got just their second win in the last six matches. Massimiliano Allegri looks like he’ll keep his job for the long haul but Juve are already six points outside of the top four. Juve host Empoli on Friday in a potential trap game.

Empoli FC got a historic 1-0 win over Juve at the Allianz Stadium last year. The win broke an eight-match losing streak to Juventus. This time around, the Juventus vs Empoli Betting Odds price Juve as heavy -220 favorites. Juventus are also -130 favorites to cover the one-goal spread. Despite their shaky form, they are unbeaten at home in Serie A so far this season.

Meanwhile, +675 underdogs Empoli have only lost once in five road games this season. It’ll be tough coming up against Vlahovic, as he’s the joint-top scorer in the soccer league standings. Still, both teams have usually played in low scoring matches this season. Only six of their 20 combined matches have finished with three or more goals. This Sunday, over 2½ sits at 125 odds, even with Angel di Maria out for Juve.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta are looking like title contenders this season. La Dea have never won a major trophy but they’ve finished third in three of the last four seasons. The difference this season is that their defense has been solid. They’ve conceded just six goals so far but it’ll be tough to keep Lazio out of the back of the net on Sunday.

SS Lazio are the second-highest scoring team in the league so far and Ciro Immobile is the reigning Golden Boot winner. However, Immobile came off injured in Lazio’s 0-0 draw vs. Udinese on Sunday. His status is uncertain and is worth monitoring in the lead up to the match. The Serie A Matchday 11 odds price Atalanta as -105 home favorites.

Incredibly, +280 underdogs Lazio have only conceded one goal away from home this season. They hold a record of two wins and two draws on the road, while Atalanta BC have won three and drawn two at home. Even with Lazio’s excellent defensive record, both teams to score shows a -165 price for Sunday’s match.

This is the undisputed match of the week. Roma and Napoli are the hottest teams in Serie A right now and this is another huge road test for Napoli. The first place Partenopei already have scored 13 goals in road matches, which is the most in the league. AS Roma also moved into the top four with a road win over Sampdoria on Monday. This has been a very competitive fixture in recent years, as both meetings last season finished in draws. Another draw sits at +250 odds.

Regardless, betting Napoli SU has been one of the best soccer betting strategies in any league so far. They’re priced at favorable +140 odds on Sunday, despite midfield lynchpin Andre Zambo Anguissa’s absence. Roma have a notable absence of their own, as top scorer Paulo Dybala is out until the FIFA World Cup.

SSC Napoli simply can’t stop scoring as they’ve managed at least three goals in their last five matches, in all competitions. Roma’s defense should be stretched at times on Sunday but the odds respect their chances. Playing in front of their home fans, Roma show +180 odds to get their first win over Napoli in the last six meetings.

Other Matches of Interest

AC Milan vs. Monza is intriguing for a few reasons. Silvio Berlusconi used to own AC Milan … now they own Monza, who are in their first-ever Serie A campaign. This is also a Lombardy derby and their first-ever competitive meeting. AC Monza have won three of their last four matches but are +775 underdogs vs. the defending champions. Milan are keeping pace in the league despite a bunch of injuries and have won three straight. The Serie A Matchday 11 odds price them as -265 favorites.

ACF Fiorentina have been disappointing so far this season after finishing in seventh last year. The Viola have just two wins in their first ten matches and have a tough one on Saturday vs. Inter Milan. Inter have straightened out their form and recently got a crucial four points in two Champions League matches vs. Barcelona. The Nerazzurri show +105 odds to get their third straight Serie A win but are just 2-3 on the road.

Udinese are battle tested and have managed to come out unscathed in recent draws vs. Lazio and Atalanta. The Friulians are just one point outside of the top four and have a match vs. Torino on Sunday. Udinese have two of the top three assist leaders in the league, Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Pereyra. Heading into Sunday, Udinese are even-money favorites at home.
