Serie A Matchday 30 Odds, Preview

Lazio, Fiorentina Continue Excellent Runs of Form

Napoli Four Wins Away From Title

Serie A leaders Napoli bounced back from a 4-1 loss to AC Milan to defeat Lecce 2-1 on Matchday 29. The Partenopei, who last won the Scudetto 33 years ago, now need just four wins to clinch the title. Napoli will take on relegation-threatened Verona on Saturday and are big favorites.

While no other team has put up much of a title fight this season, second-placed Lazio have been in excellent form lately. They and Fiorentina have managed to put together seven-match Serie A unbeaten runs.

While Lazio should win at Spezia, ninth-placed Fiorentina have a consequential match for European competition vs Atalanta on Monday. Bologna vs AC Milan and Roma vs Udinese are other important matches this weekend. We’ll cover four matches to look out for this weekend as we preview the Serie A Matchday 30 odds.

Games of the Week

BOLBologna vs AC Milan MIL

Date & Time:

With recent wins over Inter Milan, Atalanta and Udinese, Bologna have thrust themselves in the race for a European place. BFC impressively took down Atalanta 2-0 last weekend and are sitting in eighth place in the Serie A standings.

They’ll host an AC Milan side on Saturday who have a crucial Champions League match vs Napoli on Wednesday. Milan have struggled a fair bit in Serie A as of late but still occupy fourth place. In fact, the Rossoneri have won just one of their last five Serie A matches.

Visitors Milan are 0.5-goal favorites but at longer than even ATS and moneyline odds. The defending Serie A champions show both +125 ATS and moneyline odds. Bologna, on the other hand, have lost just three times at home this season and sit at -145 odds to cover.

The problem for Bologna is that they’re winless in their last 14 matches vs. the Rossoneri. Given that trend and forward Riccardo Orsolini’s suspension, Bologna come in at just +240 odds to win the match. Marko Arnautovic has also missed the last few games for Bologna but could return for this contest.

AC Milan have won their last three road games at Bologna but a draw shows +220 odds here. Despite creating a ton of chances last weekend vs. Empoli, Stefano Pioli’s Milan had to settle for a scoreless draw. Pioli won’t be able to call on Zlatan Ibrahimovic for an attacking punch as he’s picked up yet another injury.

Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud have combined for 18 goals this season, though. Even with both of Bologna’s joint-leading scorers potentially out, over two goals display -135 odds here.

NAP Napoli vs Hellas Verona VER

Date & Time: Saturday, April 15th: 12:00 p.m.

Napoli continue their title push on Saturday as they host 18th-placed Hellas Verona. Verona are currently four points from safety but did pick up a crucial 2-1 win vs Sassuolo on Matchday 29. As one of the best-looking fixtures remaining on Napoli’s schedule it’s imperative they pick up a win here.

A tough test awaits at the San Siro on Wednesday for the Partenopei but they have the personnel to compete after just two days of rest. Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti will certainly be hoping that Serie A leading scorer Victor Osimhen returns from injury in time for both of this week’s matches.

Regardless, the Serie A Matchday 30 odds list Napoli as one-goal home favorites. The last time these teams played, Napoli came back from 1-0 down to destroy Hellas, 5-2. Napoli come in at -145 odds to cover and -240 odds to get an important three points.

While Osimhen is questionable, Tanguy Ndombele is suspended and Giovanni Simeone are out injured. The latter two players usually start from the substitutes’ bench anyway. Verona have actually drawn their last two matches at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and another tie shows +350 odds. A point would be huge in Verona’s bid to avoid relegation.

Meanwhile, Verona +1 displays +125 odds and the visitors are priced at just +700 moneyline odds. Napoli’s only home loss of the season came a couple weeks ago when Osimhen missed the match vs AC Milan. Even if Osimhen can’t suit up, Napoli have Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Hirving Lozano to pick up the bulk of the scoring.

Even so, under 2.5 goals show -115 odds for Saturday’s match. Notably, defender Giangiacomo Magnani and midfielder Miguel Veloso are suspended for Verona. Hellas midfielder Darko Lazovic has also missed the last couple of matches due to injury.

ROM Roma vs Udinese UDI

Date & Time:

AS Roma have only lost by greater than a one-goal margin once this season, in all competitions. Roma’s biggest defeat of the season came in September, when they fell 4-0 away to Udinese. That defeat may still be fresh in Jose Mourinho’s mind as the Giallorossi host Udinese on Sunday.

First, a trip to the Netherlands to take on Feyenoord on Thursday awaits Roma. The Serie A odds certainly don’t imply a repeat of September’s fixture. Roma come in at -125 ATS and moneyline odds here. With last Saturday’s 1-0 away win at Torino, Roma jumped up to third place in the table.

They’ll be well aware of that fact and will go all out for three points here in their Champions League bid. Paulo Dybala has scored in three of Roma’s last four matches and the Argentine has been an incredible addition to the squad this season.

While Udinese had an excellent run to start the season, they’ve won just three matches in 2023. They are unbeaten in their last two matches vs. Roma but Udinese +.05 sits at +105 odds here. The visitors are also priced at +365 odds to get a rare win at the Stadio Olimpico. Meanwhile, the oddsmakers price a draw at +250 odds.

While Roma still have quite a lot to play for this season, Udinese are unlikely to make European competition and even more unlikely to be relegated. The Friulani seem destined for a mid table finish and their poor form has coincided with Gerard Deulofeu’s long term injury.

Still, Roma need to watch out for Udinese striker Beto, who has reached double digit goals this season. Both teams have comfortably averaged over a goal per game this season but under 2.5 goals come in at -150 odds.

FIO Fiorentina vs Atalanta ATA

Date & Time:

Fiorentina haven’t lost a match since February. The Viola are quietly having an excellent season, as they have one foot in the Coppa Italia final and are facing Lech Poznan in the UEFA Europa Conference League Quarterfinals on Thursday.

Fiorentina will put their seven-match Serie A unbeaten run on the line on Monday as they take on a faltering Atalanta side. La Dea have won just two of their last seven Serie A matches but are still just four points outside of the top four.

The Serie A Matchday 30 odds price hosts Fiorentina as 0.5-goal favorites given their excellent recent form. On their seven game unbeaten run, the Viola have conceded just three times and have wins vs both Milan clubs during that stretch. Even with their defensive prowess, over 2.5 goals sit at -115 odds for the match.

Atalanta do have one of the top scorers in the league, Ademola Lookman. Rasmus Hojland has also flashed his huge potential over the last few months. Still, Atalanta have failed to score in four of their last six Serie A matches. The visitors do sit at -150 odds to cover the spread, though. Atalanta’s moneyline odds are also +200.

The last time these teams met, it finished in a 1-0 Atalanta win. Fiorentina have won three of the last four meetings, though. None of the last eight head-to-head matchups have finished in a draw but one displays +250 odds. Atalanta lost Hans Hateboer for the rest of the season in February but may have other midfielders missing on Monday. Both Mario Pasalic and Teun Koopmeiners are listed as day-to-day.
