Rivals Uruguay and Brazil Collide in Copa QF
2024 Copa America Quarter-Final: Uruguay vs Brazil Betting Preview

Uruguay Perfect in Group Stage
Brazil entered Copa America with more questions than answers and they still haven’t found the answers.
As Brazil went 1-2-0, they finished in second place in Group D behind Colombia and have to face rivals Uruguay in the Quarter-Final.

On the other hand, Uruguay went a perfect 3-0 in the group stage and they’ll undoubtedly feel they can go on and win the tournament.
In our Uruguay vs Brazil betting preview we’ll check out the match odds, Copa America outrights and the latest team news. Here, Uruguay are going for their first two game winning streak vs Brazil since 1992.
Uruguay vs Brazil Head-to-Head
Our Uruguay vs Brazil betting preview notes that these teams met last October in World Cup Qualifier. Darwin Nuñez and Nicolas de la Cruz scored in Uruguay’s 2-0 victory, which was their first win in this fixture since 2001. Brazil have won seven of the last 10 fixtures in 90 minutes and the Selecao are 40-17-22 vs Uruguay all-time.
Uruguay and Brazil haven’t met in the Copa America since 2007 and Brazil advanced to the final on penalties. Brazil also took down Uruguay in penalties in the 2004 Copa America Semifinals.
All-Action Uruguay Lead Copa America in Scoring
No team scored more goals than Uruguay in the Copa America group stage. Uruguay opened up their tournament against Panama and grabbed a 3-1 victory.
They followed it up with a dominant 5-0 win over Bolivia and both Darwin Nuñez and Maxi Araujo scored in Uruguay’s opening two matches. However, Araujo, a winger, had to be stretchered off the field in the group stage finale versus hosts USA.
Uruguay ended up winning the game 1-0, on a goal from Mathias Olivera, but Araujo suffered a neck injury and it doesn’t seem like he’ll be available for the foreseeable future.
Without Araujo, Cristian Olivera is a candidate to start on the left wing. With three wins from three games, Uruguay finished in first place in the Group C Copa America standings and knocked out the USA.
Marcelo Bielsa served a touchline ban for the USA match but Uruguay’s coach will be back for the Quarter-Finals. Bielsa has molded this team in his image and they’re an all-action squad that doesn’t let up.
Uruguay have talented individuals, like Nuñez, Fede Valverde, Manuel Ugarte and Ronald Araujo but they have no qualms about doing the dirty work.
Our Uruguay vs Brazil betting preview notes that La Celeste are 10-3-2 under Bielsa. They’re the only team to defeat Argentina since the World Cup Final and Uruguay also beat Brazil last year.
Uruguay Games | Scores | Brazil Games | Scores |

Brazil Missing Vinicius Jr.
Brazil were in one of the most difficult Copa America 2024 groups. To kick off the tournament, Brazil drew 0-0 against Costa Rica and proceeded to destroy Paraguay 4-1 as Vinicius Junior scored twice.
In the group stage finale, Brazil went up against in-form Colombia. Colombia entered the match on a ten game winning streak but the score finished level at one.
Raphinha scored a free kick for Brazil, in the 12th minute, while Colombia’s Daniel Muñoz equalized just before halftime. CONMEBOL issued an apology for failing to call a penalty for Brazil in the second half as Vini Jr. got tripped in the box. The match finished 1-1 and Brazil had to settle for second place in Group D.
With two yellow cards, Vini Jr. is suspended for the Quarter-Final vs Uruguay. Savio and Gabriel Martinelli are candidates to start on the left wing for Brazil on Saturday.
Brazil are unbeaten in 2024 but four of their seven matches have finished in draws. That means Brazil have only won three of their last 11 matches, in all competitions.
Historically one of the best teams in the world, Brazil are going through a rough patch and they’re at serious risk of an early Copa America exit.
Uruguay vs Brazil Match Analysis & Odds
Our Uruguay vs Brazil betting preview notes Brazil are favorites despite missing their star player.
A draw also displays +210 odds but only one of the last nine matches between these teams has finished level.
Brazil pk Brazil to qualify for the Semifinal, where they would take on the winner of Colombia and Panama, sits at -120, while Uruguay pk is at even odds and Uruguay to qualify is at -110.
We should note that Uruguay have won each of their last six competitive matches and it’s somewhat surprising they’re underdogs here.
This isn’t the Brazil of old and they’re missing their most dangerous attacker, which means someone else will have to step up. Vini’s Real Madrid teammate Rodrygo is yet to score or assist at the 2024 Copa America but he’ll almost certainly be in the starting XI come Saturday.
Under 2, 2.5 goals show -125 odds as both teams conceded under a goal per game in the group stage. As of right now, the Copa America final odds list Brazil at +300 odds to win the title and Uruguay at +550.
