UCL Quarterfinals Betting Odds: Leg 1

Guardiola Faces Former Club

Three Italian Clubs Remain

The Champions League Quarterfinals draw has added a new layer of drama into the fold. Three Italian sides, AC and Inter Milan, and Napoli, are on one side of the bracket along with Benfica. Meanwhile, only one of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester City will qualify for June’s final.

On Tuesday, Man City boss Pep Guardiola will face his former club Bayern Munich in a monumental first-leg matchup. At the same time, Portuguese dark horses Benfica take on Inter. Wednesday’s slate is similarly excellent, as there’s an all-Italian matchup between AC Milan and Napoli and Real Madrid hosts Chelsea. Let’s take a look at the UCL Quarterfinals betting odds from an exciting week.

UCL Quarterfinals Matches:

BENBenfica vs Inter MilanINT

Day/Time:

Benfica lost a 90-minute match for just the second time all season on Friday as they fell 2-1 to FC Porto. Now, they’ll regroup as they host a struggling Inter Milan side on Tuesday. Inter Milan conceded a last-minute goal to draw 1-1 with Salernitana last Friday and are winless in their last six matches in all competitions. It’s a poor time for the Nerazzurri to be in poor form as they fight for the Champions League title and a Serie A top-four berth. Although Inter didn’t win on Friday, they created a bunch of chances and were denied a win by a heroic performance from Salernitana goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa.

These are two of the least likely UEFA Champions League teams to go on and win the competition but this is still a great matchup. Both sides sit at +1400 outright odds but it’s Benfica who are favored to advance, at -125. For the first leg, the hosts are +115 ATS and moneyline favorites.

Benfica’s Joao Mario and Goncalo Ramos are two players to watch as they’ve both tallied over 20 goals this season, in all competitions. Benfica also dismantled Club Brugge 7-1 over two legs in the round of 16. Meanwhile, Inter eked out a 1-0 aggregate win over FC Porto. The Nerazzurri are +255 moneyline underdogs and haven’t won on the road since January. They also haven’t scored more than one goal in a match in each of their last six games.

Although they’ve struggled for form, Inter +0.5 displays -135 odds. Meanwhile, a draw comes in at +230 odds and Simone Inzaghi’s Inter will certainly be pleased with one. These teams haven’t met in a major UEFA competition since the fourth round of the 2004 UEFA Cup. Over two legs Inter defeated Benfica 4-3. In eight UCL games so far this season, Benfica has averaged nearly three goals per game. So, it’s no surprise that over two goals show -145 odds for Tuesday’s match. After all, Benfica is on a 17-game scoring streak, in all competitions.

MCIManchester City vs Bayern MunichFCB

Day/Time:

Two footballing behemoths face off as Manchester City host Bayern Munich on Tuesday. Man City is the current favorite to win the competition, at +225 odds, while Bayern has the joint-second shortest odds, at +350. Unfortunately, only one of these teams will play in the semifinals, and the UCL Quarterfinals Betting Odds price Man City as -165 favorites to qualify. The City has been on fire as of late, with eight straight wins, in all competitions. Over the weekend, Erling Haaland scored a brace as Man City defeated Southampton, 4-1.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern recovered from a midweek loss to SC Freiburg in the DFB Pokal to beat them 1-0 in the Bundesliga. Tuchel was just appointed Bayern Munich boss a couple of weeks ago and defeated Pep Guardiola’s Man City in the 2021 UCL final with Chelsea.

The last time these two teams met, Guardiola was actually managing Bayern. In six previous UCL meetings, things are all square as both teams have won three times. This is the first knockout stage clash between them, though. For Tuesday’s match, the Cityzens come in as -135 ATS and moneyline favorites.

Man City haven’t lost a match at the Etihad since November and has totaled a ridiculous 17 goals in their last three home matches. Although both teams are loaded with attacking talent, under three goals display -120 odds for the first leg. Notably, Bayern striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is questionable for the match. Only Phil Foden is on the injury list for Manchester City. Heading into Tuesday, Bayern +0.5 sits at +115 odds but they have lost two of their last four matches, in all competitions. To round out the moneyline odds, Bayern comes in at +345 and a draw is priced at +300.

RMAReal Madrid vs ChelseaCHE

Day/Time:

Defending UCL champions Real Madrid host a Chelsea team in flux on Wednesday. Chelsea recently sacked Graham Potter as manager and brought back Frank Lampard as caretaker manager. In Lampard’s first match in charge, Chelsea lost 1-0 to the Wolves.

The Blues have also failed to score in each of their last three matches. Real Madrid also lost last weekend to Villarreal and is set to miss out on the La Liga title to rivals Barcelona. While Real did defeat Barcelona 4-0 in the Copa del Rey last week to advance to the final. This is Chelsea’s only chance to win silverware this season.

Both teams finished first in their group in the Champions League Standings and Real has already knocked out an English club. In a rematch of last season’s final, Los Blancos defeated Liverpool 6-2 in the round of 16, on aggregate. At the same time, Chelsea managed to overturn a 1-0 deficit to Borussia Dortmund and won the second leg, 2-0. For this match, Real Madrid is -145 ATS and moneyline favorite.

Los Blancos also come in at -175 odds to qualify for the semifinals, where they knocked Chelsea out last season. In four meetings over the last couple of years, Chelsea is an impressive 2-1-1 vs Real Madrid. Chelsea even managed to get a 3-1 win at the Bernabeu last season before falling in extra time. Still, they’re +395 underdogs and Chelsea +0.5 sits at +125 odds.

In two of his last three appearances for Real, Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema has scored a hat trick. Still, under 2.5 goals display-115 odds for the match. Real has also found the net 12 times in their last three matches alone. Chelsea has looked like a club without an identity for much of this season and hasn’t been able to find an offensive identity of their own. The 2021 UCL winners are in 11th place in the Premier League and have averaged under a goal per game. They’d do themselves a big favor with a draw here, which comes in at +275 odds.

MILAC Milan vs NapoliNAP

Day/Time:

At the very least, there will be an Italian team in this season’s Champions League Semifinals. In an all-Italian showdown, AC Milan clashes with Napoli in the first leg of the Quarterfinals on Wednesday. Recall that AC Milan defeated Napoli 4-0 under 10 days ago but the UCL Quarterfinals Betting Odds price Napoli as -190 favorites to advance. A lot of that has to do with the fact that Napoli’s leading scorer Victor Osimhen is expected to be back on Wednesday. The Nigerian international, and Serie A’s leading scorer, missed the recent meeting between the two sides with an injury.

This is the first time ever Milan and Napoli are facing off in the Champions League but the recent head-to-head has been quite even. Over the last six meetings, both teams have had three wins each. Incredibly, the away team is unbeaten in the last eight matches of this fixture. In this pick’em, visitors Napoli are slight favorites and could extend that streak.

AC Milan pk comes in at -105 odds, while Napoli pk shows slightly shorter -115 odds. Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli hasn’t lost on the road since January and sits at +160 moneyline odds. Milan isn’t far behind, at +185 and a draw displays +220 odds.

Last weekend in Serie A, Milan played in a scoreless draw at home vs Empoli while Napoli downed Lecce 2-1 without Osimhen. When both Osimhen and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia are fit, they present major headaches for opposing defenses, though. Milan has certainly been inconsistent on offense recently and has won just one of their last six matches, in all competitions. They do have the reigning Serie A Player of the Year, Rafael Leao, though. In what could be a defensive battle on Wednesday, under 2.5 goals are priced at -130 odds.
