ATP Swiss Indoor Basel Betting Odds Preview

Federer Returns for One Last Hurrah

The ATP Swiss Indoor tournament in Basel will welcome one of its own for the last time, as Roger Federer confirmed he will make his final appearance at his home event, the ATP Swiss Basel Indoors. The tournament’s website confirms the Swiss maestro’s place on the entry list and Swiss Indoor Basel Betting Odds have Federer tipped among its contenders.

Federer announced his retirement a couple of months ago, before attending the Rod Laver Cup in London, UK, where he participated in one Tennis match – a doubles match with his longtime rival and good friend Rafael Nadal.

The 40-year-old will grace the tennis courts for one last time, fittingly before his home fans in his native Basel. At the very same tournament where as a young boy he served as a ball boy.

Federer has won 10 ATP Swiss Indoor titles. He’s gunning for an incredible 11th title at the ATP 500 event, which is to be held from Monday Oct. 24 to Sunday, Oct 31. But he’s going to face stiff competition in the race for the title.

Federer Eyes 11th Title

Federer is the three-time defending champion and he enters the Swiss Indoor Basel Betting Odds market as one of the contenders.

Federer last won the title in 2019. The event was cancelled due to the global Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. So, it’s not until now that the Swiss is being afforded an opportunity to defend his title.

Contenders to Win Outright

A star-studded field is set to descend on the Swiss enclave, including World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, who is likely to be the player to beat according to the tennis betting odds.

Alcaraz will be making his second tournament appearance since winning the 2021 US Open – his maiden grand slam title.

The 19-year-old Spaniard competed in Kazakhstan a couple of weeks ago, but he was a first round casualty following an upset by veteran David Goffin.

Basel open betting tips are sure to serve up Alcaraz as one of the best bets to spot for tennis picks. It’s hard to argue with that given what he’s accomplished this season.

However, things have changed for the youngster since his major breakthrough The pressure is different now, and the expectations are higher. There are bound to be growing pains for Alcaraz as he adjusts to his new place in the game.

The No. 1 Norwegian has had his best hard court season and he should be one to spot on the Swiss Indoor Basel Betting Odds board.

Norway’s Casper Ruud, who finished runner-up to Alcaraz, is also confirmed on the tournament’s entry list. The No. 1 Norwegian has had his best hard court season and he should be one to spot on the Swiss Indoor Basel Betting Odds board.

Other top players that are listed on the tournament’s site include Canada’s Felix Auger Aliassime, Marin Cilic, Pablo Carreno Busta, Nick Kyrgios, Roberto Bautista Agut and Alex De Minaur.

Depending on how the draw shakes out (scheduled to be released on Saturday), Auger-Aliassime and Nick Kyrgios are two dark horse contenders to watch for in this tournament. Should either fall in a favorable section, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them make a deep run.

Alex De Minaur is an outside bet but one to consider as well. However, a lot depends on where he falls in the draw too.
