Jannik Sinner Tops Star-Studded ATP Halle
2024 Terra Wortmann Open Odds

Australian Open winner and current world number one Jannik Sinner headlines the ATP Halle field this week.
2024 Terra Wortmann Open odds have Sinner at +135 to get back to winning form, but he has stern opposition in the form of Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, and Hubert Hurkacz.
A spot in the ATP Finals could be up for grabs for the winner, so it’s an important tournament to win.
New Number One To Justify Ranking
Italian sensation Sinner is the new world number one, and he gets the top seed at Halle to come with it.
The 22-year-old made his move up the ATP rankings with a win at the 2024 Australian Open before winning the Miami Open later in the year.
His performance on the clay courts of Roland Garros was good, losing to champion Carlos Alcaraz in five sets, so he lost no admirers with that defeat.
Alcaraz is the favorite to win the Cinch Championships in London this week, and Sinner will look to keep pace and his top ranking.
He has steadily improved on grass courts, especially at Wimbledon. He lost in the first round in 2021, but made the quarters in 2022 and semis in 2023.
We like seeing that progression, and his 2024 Terra Wortmann Open odds of +135 are warranted. He’s the best player in the tournament, and we expect him to make the final at worst.
He also received advice from Roger Federer, which has hasn’t forgotten.
“He gave me just kind of mental advice: Try to enjoy it and keep looking forward to working hard. That’s the only thing he told me, and it was very nice to share a court with him,” Sinner said.
Zverev Revving Up at the Right Time
Zverev had a couple of rough years on and off the court, but the German is back to his best.
He fell into some legal trouble regarding an ex-girlfriend, but with that behind him, he can get back to what he does best.
The 27-year-old from Hamburg lost in the French Open final to Alcaraz, but just to make the final was an excellent result for him.
He had a 2-1 set advantage with tennis scores before Alcaraz fired back to clean up the last two sets. He would have been disappointed to let it slip, but it’s a step in the right direction.
He’s the best player on the ATP Tour without a grand slam title, and although grass is his worst surface, he’s still the second-best player in the tournament based on form.
His best finish at Wimbledon is a fourth round loss in 2021, but he has matured since then with two semifinal and one final appearance at the grand slam level.
His confidence is there to see, and the 2024 Terra Wortmann Open odds of +450 suggests he’ll make another deep run.
Keeping the Faith with Medvedev
It’s no secret that Medvedev hates playing on clay courts.
He’s a fast court player, as evident with his results at the Australian and US Open. He won the 2021 US Open final before making the final last year.
He owns three final appearances at the Australian Open, but his best finish at the French Open or Wimbledon is a semifinal appearance at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships.
Despite his lack of success on slower court surfaces, he’s still got a chance of winning this week.
The 28-year-old Russian has been backed into the third line of betting at +500, which is a fair line for the most successful player in the tournament.
Despite Sinner being world number one, Medvedev has achieved much more in the world of tennis, and that can’t be overlooked with 2024 Terra Wortmann Open odds.
He faces Nuno Borges in the first round, who had some words to say about Medvedev.
“I think it is everybody’s least-played surface, so I guess everybody’s a little bit on the same foot with it,” Borges said. “Even though [Medvedev] has been on the Tour for more years and played at the highest level for longer. I’ll use everything I can, and if that’s a good reason to hang on to any hope I’ll use it.”
We give Borges no chance of beating him, so take him to win and advance deep into the tournament.
