Fiziev vs Gamrot Betting Odds: Fiziev Holds the Edge
UFC Fight Night Main Event
Fiziev vs Gamrot betting odds have been released and it’s Rafael Fiziev holding the edge with the sportsbook.
The lightweight fight headlines UFC Fight Night at UFC Apex on Saturday, and the five-round contest should excite MMA fans.
Bounce Back Time for Fiziev
The 30-year-old lost to Justin Gaethje in his most recent fight, and Gaethje would go on to win the BMF title.
It’s a good form guide against a fighter like Gamrot, who is tough as nails like Gaethje, so Fiziev should know what to expect.
He was distraught with his gameplan against Gaethje.
“I don’t like this fight. I made a lot of stupid decisions. A lot of stupid decisions. I played his game. I go in and fight, like just want to make everything crazy,” Fiziev said.
“Game plan was try to use I.Q., like how he did. He did it perfect. He just played. He just tried to play and I tried to fight crazy. … Maybe I was excited in the moment, maybe I’m still young and stupid.”
The Kazakhstani fighter defeated Rafael dos Anjos in 2022 by knockout in the fifth round. Having wins like that on his record is tough to overlook, and he owns some impressive UFC knockouts throughout his career.
He also knocked out Brad Riddell and Renato Moicano, so the 12-2 fighter has the power edge over Gamrot, who wins many of his fights via decision.
Bettors get -155 for Fiziev, and we can’t see those odds getting any better. He is a popular fighter with UFC best bets, and he could shorten to around -170 on fight night.
Fiziev vs Gamrot betting odds have Gamrot at +125, which could move to around +135.
Gamrot a Worthy Contender
With 22 wins and only two losses on his record, Mateusz Gamrot isn’t a fighter you want to underestimate.
The 32-year-old Polish fighter scored a decision win against Jalin Turner, and although it wasn’t a real head turner, it was yet another solid win.
He was coming off a loss to Beneil Dariush, which set him back in the lightweight rankings. However, a win over Fiziev could see him in line for a title shot in 2024.
UFC stats showed that he landed four takedowns against Turner, and that’s where he could have the advantage over Fiziev, who is looking for the knockout.
If Gamrot gets his opponent to the ground, he could grind out a decision victory over five rounds. He submitted Jeremy Stephens and went five rounds with Arman Tsarukyan, so he’s well-equipped to see out the five rounds.
Many critics suggest it’s a bad fight for Fiziev, and that he should be looking for an easier fight after a loss. Fiziev also tweeted Gamrot, saying he wants three rounds because he gets tired, so there is plenty of positives in favour of Gamrot.
The +125 underdog is good enough to pull off the upset, but it would be his biggest career win.
Bet on Fiziev
There are some minor concerns with Fiziev, but he’s the better fighter, and that could be the difference at UFC Fight Night.
Fiziev vs Gamrot betting odds don’t have much between them, and that’s likely going to be the case. However, with Fiziev’s power advantage, he could score a late knockout.
There is value with Fiziev to win by knockout, and he has more time to land the blow over five rounds, so that’s our best for the feature UFC fight this week.
