American Underdog
Alex Perez is fighting as an underdog in his home country for the main event of this UFC Fight Night. Although Perez is ranked fifth in the flyweight UFC rankings, he is the underdog to the Japanese Taira, ranked 13th. Perez vs Taira UFC odds having Perez as the underdog makes sense to us. He is coming off a win, but it is his first since 2020 after a rough 20-month hiatus. Before that, he had lost three straight fights, two by submission in the first round.

The Undefeated Man From Japan
Alex Perez faces Tatsuro Taira, the undefeated flyweight from Japan. Taira has won all 15 of his professional fights, with four by (T)KO and seven by submission. He has yet to fight yet in 2024, but most recently defeated Carlos Hernandez by KO/TKO in the second round during UFC Fight Night: Song vs. Gutierrez.
Taira has been poised since he entered the UFC and oddsmakers believe that although less experienced, is ready for anything. Taira has been on a path straight to a flyweight title fight, and defeating Perez will put him one step closer. With youth (Taira is eight years younger than Perez) and momentum on his side, we believe that Taira will remain undefeated with a victory against Perez this Saturday.
