XFL Week 3 Betting Odds Preview: The Fun Won’t Stop
Starting to Figure Out Good From Bad

Arlington-Orlando is First Lopsided Matchup
With two weeks in the XFL books, we’re getting a good picture of the contenders and the also-rans. The highly uneven point spread between the Arlington Renegades and Orlando Guardians best shows this. Arlington is favored by a whopping 8.5 points, the largest spread of the XFL Week 3 betting odds. This week features more of the same odds otherwise.
XFL Betting Report Week 2: Good, Bad, and Ugly All on Display
Week 2 had it all: thrilling comebacks, blowouts, and some bad football partly due to factors that were not the players’ fault. Both underdogs won and covered for the games before Sunday. The XFL’s first Thursday Night game saw A.J. McCarron once again lead the Battlehawks to a come-from-behind victory. They upset the Dragons.
On Saturday night, the Defenders upset the Vipers in what was a brutal game due to field conditions. Cashman Field, a baseball field, was clearly not suited for football and the rain only made it worse. The teams combined for four fumbles and two missed field goals. Vegas’s Bailey Giffen slipped on a 23-yard field goal attempt.
The Sunday slate restored some balance to the XFL odds as the favorites won and covered with no issue. The Brahmas owned the Guardians with an 18-point victory while the Roughnecks ousted the Renegades in the XFL’s first-ever All-Texan team showdown. With the win, the Roughnecks remained the only unbeaten team in the state.
Seattle Sea Dragons vs Vegas Vipers
Record: Dragons (0-2) / Vipers (0-2)
Date & Time:
Location: Cashman Field, Las Vegas, NV
Streaming: FX, ESPN+
Someone is finally going to win. The Sea Dragons may be the best 0-2 team in the XFL and the combination of Ben DiNucci and Josh Gordon has been electric. They’ve made the most out of the 2023 XFL rules but have no wins to show for it. Seattle is favored over Vegas by a field goal (-3) as the Vipers may have a home turf disadvantage given Cashman Field’s unideal playing surface. The total to go under 38 points may be a sharp bet here.
St. Louis Battlehawks vs D.C. Defenders
Record: Battlehawks (2-0) / D.C. Defenders (2-0)
Date & Time:
Location: Audi Field, Washington, D.C.
Streaming: FX, ESPN+
From winless teams to unbeaten ones. Someone’s “0” has got to go and the XFL Week 3 betting odds favor the Defenders to be the one keeping theirs (-2). D.C. Both are also unbeaten on the spread having covered each as an underdog and favorite. These teams are also adept at making comebacks as they both had to produce one each last week. The total, set at 37 points here, went over the last time in Audi Field.
Orlando Guardians vs Arlington Renegades
Record: Guardians (0-2) / Renegades (1-1)
Date & Time:
Location: Choctaw Stadium, Arlington, TX
Streaming: FX, ESPN+
The woeful Guardians appear to be the worst team in the XFL after two straight blowout losses. Orlando has been outscored by 39 points and has practically committed every “no-no” from getting their punts blocked to racking up 13 penalties. If they can overcome the XFL Week 3 betting odds’ spread, it may just turn their season around. As for Arlington, it lost to Houston and are also 0-2 against the spread. The total is 37 and both Guardians’ games have gone over.
San Antonio Brahmas vs Houston Roughnecks
Record: Brahmas (1-1) / Roughnecks (2-0)
Date & Time:
Location: TDECU Stadium, Houston, TX
Streaming: ESPN2, ESPN+
The Brahmas bounced back in style by whooping on the Guardians. Hines Ward’s crew forced a lot of mistakes from Orlando and will need to do the same to hand Houston its first loss. For the Roughnecks, they already turned back their other state rival in Arlington. A second straight win over another Texas team will make it the undisputed alpha in the state. At 36 points, this is expected to be the lowest-scoring game.
