XFL Week 5 Betting Odds Preview: Someone’s “O” Has Got To Go

Winless Teams Meet as Favorites Continue To Dominate

Orlando or Vegas Finally Wins This Week

Houston and D.C. went undefeated over the weekend at the expense of Orlando and Vegas, the only two winless teams in the XFL. But good news to their fans – someone will finally win! The XFL Week 5 betting odds expect it to be Vegas, who will host Orlando as 7.5-point favorites. The Guardians have been abysmal and have lost by 18+ points in three of their four games so a win here would be quite something.

XFL Week 4 Betting Report: Favorites Sweep Moneyline and Spread

For the second straight week, chalk cleaned up on the XFL betting lines. The difference for Week 4 is that the favorites not only won out, but also covered – 4-0 on both the moneyline (ML) and point spreads. Most of the games were not close as expected by the matchups. The unbeaten duo of Houston and D.C. made short work of Orlando and Vegas, respectively.

Seattle won a second straight game by holding San Antonio to six points in what was the lowest total (21) of the week. Ben DiNucci became the first quarterback to break 1,000 passing yards. The totals went 2-2 as they did last week. Arlington and St. Louis’s game also went 1.5 points below the 36.5 total as the Battlehawks bounced back from a Week 3 loss to go 3-1.

The highlight of the week belonged to the Roughnecks, who got the sports world talking with a sparkling execution of a double forward pass that led to a touchdown. It was that type of game as Houston scored a week-high 44 points.

Houston Roughnecks (4-0) vs Seattle Sea Dragons (2-2)

Date, time:
Location: Lumen Field, Seattle, WA
Broadcasts: ESPN

The Roughnecks and Sea Dragons meet in what should be a high-scoring game, hence the week’s highest total (43) per the XFL Week 5 betting odds. Houston is favored by three points (-170 on the ML) as the Roughnecks look to keep their perfect record intact. Three of these teams’ last four games each have gone over the total. Aired on big ESPN, this may be the must-watch game of the week.

D.C. Defenders (4-0) vs St. Louis Battlehawks (3-1)

Date, time:
Location: The Dome at America’s Center, St. Louis, MO
Broadcasts: FX, ESPN+

D.C. will also put its unbeaten record on the line as it visits the Battlehawks in a rematch from Week 3. The Defenders handed St. Louis its first loss in a game that totaled 62 points, the most of this week. As such, the XFL Week 5 betting odds have the total here as the second-highest at 42.5 points. St. Louis will host a consecutive game following its sellout from last week’s home opener.

Orlando Guardians (0-4) vs Vegas Vipers (0-4)

Date, time:
Location: Cashman Field, Las Vegas, NV
Broadcasts: FX, ESPN+

The XFL’s winless teams battle it out on the worst turf in the league. But this one might prove to be a barn burner despite the massive spread for Vegas at 7.5 points. Vegas may be a lot better than its record indicates as two losses came against D.C. while their others were by six points or fewer. With a tough XFL schedule, Vegas finally gets an opponent they should beat. Both of these teams have seen three of their four games go over the total.

Arlington Renegades (2-2) vs San Antonio Brahmas (1-3)

Date, time:
Location: Alamodome, San Antonio, TX
Broadcasts: ESPN2, ESPN+

The Renegades and Brahmas meet in a battle of underachieving Texas-based outfits. Arlington is the only XFL team that has yet to cover a spread (0-4) while the Brahmas are not much better at 1-3 against the spread (ATS). San Antonio’s lone win came at home and they will be the 2.5-point favorites here. The defenses should make this one a low-scoring game as the 35.5-point total, the lowest of the week, suggests.
