The Bengals were the Cinderella story of the 2021 NFL season, going from an also-ran all the way to a Super Bowl run that fell agonizingly short of a championship triumph. The question for the 2022 season is whether last year was a one-hit wonder or a sign of things to come. The Joe Burrows/Jamarr Chase combination should still be strong regardless, with Chase averaging 18 yards per catch in 2021. They’ve also strengthened the offensive line, which can only improve after a rough showing previously in several big times.

Robert Saleh’s Jets are hoping for real progress in 2022. The draft additions of Sauce Gardner at corner, Garrett Wilson at receiver, and Breece Hall at running back should add some much-needed life to a team which has lacked identity and attitude in recent seasons. They haven’t been to the playoffs since 2010 and will hope they are building a team capable of reaching January relevance.

How should you play it if you’re looking to bet on NFL games in Week 3? The Jets lead the head-to-head 18-10 and had that famous win last season, but the stats and line-ups all point to the Bengals getting some revenge this time round. Cincinnati had the 3rd ‘highest yards per attempt’ last year, and you can expect the same big play potential in this one. Put your money on the Bengals to rack up some points and win with relative ease.
