The 4-time Super Bowl Champion Packers face off against the 3-time Super Bowl Champion Commanders this Week 7, in a classic NFC showdown. Those who bet on NFL games will likely favor Green Bay, but how will they really fare?

The Packers spent the off-season of the last two years wondering if Aaron Rodgers wanted to stick around, and if he actually would. The signing of their MVP QB should be a cause for optimism, but there is concern that the loss of Davante Adams -and the failure to replace him in either the draft or free agency- means that the Super Bowl is now further away than a year ago.

Defensively, the Commanders have a familiar look and are bringing back all their starters from a 2021 unit that had initially showed promise but ultimately showed up underwhelmed, ranking 25th in points allowed and 32nd in passing touchdowns allowed. On the offensive side of the ball, Coach Rivera has shaken things up more, bringing in Carson Wentz from the Colts and adding Brian Robinson to the backfield. Combining these additions with Terry McLaurin should help improve the scoring power of a team that struggled in that area in 2021.

Green Bay leads the head-to-head series 22-16-1 and has won the last 2 against the team from the nation’s capital. They were also victorious the last time they met in a playoff game in 2016.

Which way will the NFL betting odds call this one out? Despite some changes in Washington (not just the logo), the Packers should have too much in this one. They have a better defense and they also have a 4-time MVP QB at their disposal. Back the Packers to take home a W through the cheddar curtain to Wisconsin.
