Texans vs Broncos Highlights

Houston is a team still in the midst of a multi-year rebuild. The questionable hire of Ravens’ vet David Culley always looked likely to be short-term, and indeed it was, with Cully fired in the off-season after just one year. Lovie Smith was drafted in to replace him with the aim of getting more wins than a year ago when they managed just 4 successes. Davis Mills is the likely starter under center, despite rumors they could move for Niners QB Jimmy Garoppolo. Such a trade makes little sense, however, and Mills looks likely to make a start here.

The Denver Broncos can’t be accused of playing it safe in 2022. They saw their new franchise quarterback and snagged him. Russell Wilson is a superstar, offensive leader, and Super Bowl champion. The last time the team from Mile High went for such a player, it went pretty well, with Peyton Manning leading them to a title and changing their franchise.

With the Texans being a relatively new franchise, there have only been 8 meetings between these two, with the Broncos winning slightly more at 5-3. Denver also won comfortably in 2019 when they last met, running out 38-24 victors.

How will the NFL betting odds have this game going? With the addition of Wilson, the Broncos look like a team with the arrow pointing up. If you’re betting on NFL games, favor Russ and his Broncos to ride all the way to a Week-2 win and a clear margin of victory.
