The Houston Texans were a bit of a mess last season, but arguably outperformed expectations to finish 4-13. Many expected them to have the worst record in the league, so this was a reasonable effort. Nevertheless, they felt it necessary to sack Head Coach David Culley and replace him with veteran Love Smith. How will Smith manage the rebuild, and can he build some momentum this week against the Raiders?

The team from Sin City reached the playoffs last season, and was inches from beating the eventual AFC champions. They’ve added to that successful team by trading for Davante Adams, now paired with his best college buddy Derek Carr at QB. They will be hoping for -and possibly expecting- another playoff berth, but that’s tough to ask in a division that has 4 genuine contenders.
