It’s fair to say there are two contrasting outlooks for these two AFC South outfits. The Colts continue to spin the veteran quarterback carousel after landing Matt Ryan. They will be hoping they can back him to a playoff berth. The Texans, however, still look like a team in transition but begin the season with some renewed hope.

Colts vs Texans Highlights
Indianapolis Colts head into Week 1 with the Carson Wentz era firmly behind them. With the North Dakota alum jettisoned to the nation’s capital, they are pinning their playoff aspirations on the aging arm of Matty Ice himself, Matt Ryan. With training camp buzz nothing but positive around the former MVP, they start the season favorites for the division. 2022 marks the 5th season running with 5 different quarterbacks—will it be 5th-time lucky?
Houston Texans still looks like a team struggling for direction as we go into the first game of the season. They fired coach David Culley despite only 1 season at the wheel and brought in established vet Lovie Smith for some stability. They managed only 4 wins last season, and realistically any wins over that total will represent progress. They appear devoted to 3rd-round pick Davis Mills, who, while showing flashes of promise, remains an unknown quantity under center.
Not only do they stand in different places heading into 2022, but the Colts also hold the wood over their rivals, historically. They lead the series 32-9 over the Texans and will hope to extend that lead in NFL week 1. Be sure to check out the NFL Odds for this game
If you’re betting on NFL games, how do you call this one? Well, let’s forget Week 18 2021, and the Colts meltdown, and say that they should handily take care of business in Week 1. Colts vs Texans seems like a mismatch on paper, so no matter the odds, place your faith in a comfortable Colts win.
