Jacksonville Jaguars vs Los Angeles Chargers

The Jacksonville Jaguars make the long trip from Duval all the way to the west coast to play the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3. The weather should be similar to what they are used to, but a talent-rich Chargers team will make sure they get an unwelcome reception at SoFi Stadium.

Jaguars vs Chargers Highlights

Jacksonville’s season will largely rest on what kind of performance they can get from second-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence. He was the unanimous best player in the 2021 NFL draft and a definitive high-ceiling and high-floor player. They have added Christian Kirk at receiver in a big money deal and running back Travis Etienne Jr. is returning from injury in moves that should help Lawrence. He also has coach Doug Pederson to help develop, so Jags fans will be hoping all this leads to an improved offense in 2022.

The Chargers bolstered an already strong roster this summer by adding pass rusher Khalil Mack and resigning star safety Derwin James to a market-setting deal. QB Justin Herbert could be a dark-horse MVP candidate, with a resume of astonishing play under his belt even at the tender age of 24. If they can edge ahead of their division rivals, don’t be surprised to see them at the sharp end of the playoffs come January.

The Chargers lead the historic head-to-head 9-3, with the last meeting being a 39-29 victory for the Bolts in October 2020. How will the NFL betting odds predict this one? With the Jags still yet to prove themselves, and the Chargers being many people’s favorites to win the division, it looks like LA’s game. If you’re placing a bet on NFL games, favor them to cover the spread and send the Jags back to Florida with an L and their tail between their legs.
