Raiders vs Chargers Highlights
The Las Vegas Raiders will be hoping to put the Jon Gruden saga behind them this season and have some much-needed stability with the appointment of New England alum Josh McDaniels as head coach. They also swung one of the trades of the off-season – bringing Davante Adams to the silver and black in a huge deal. They will need his firepower, as the division looks brutal; it’s not only their NFL Week 1 opponents that look formidable. The Broncos brought in “Dangeruss” himself Russell Wilson, and the Chiefs were always a Super Bowl contender with Pat Mahomes.
What of the Raiders’ opponents? Perennial also-rans who under-perform, the Chargers bolstered an already strong roster this summer with the addition of pass rusher Khalil Mack, and resigned star safety Derwin James to a market-setting deal. QB Justin Herbert could be a dark-horse MVP candidate, with a resume of astonishing play under his belt even at the tender age of 24. If they can edge ahead of their division rivals, don’t be surprised to see them at the sharp end of the playoffs come January.
Not sure who to bet on in Raiders vs Chargers? With two strong offenses showing up, expect the over/under number to be high. Both have some defensive star power and could keep things tight, but this seems unlikely. The smart money, if you are betting on NFL games in Week 1, is to favor a Chargers win and for it to be high scoring. Be sure to check out the NFL Odds for this game.
