New England Patriots vs Green Bay Packers

Week 4 brings us a game that many had, at some point, expected to see in a Super Bowl: New England Patriots vs Green Bay Packers. Even in the height of the Brady-Pats dominance, it felt like it was an inevitable clash that was to happen in the biggest game… but it never did. Now, in 2022, both teams look very different. How do the NFL betting odds see this one, and who will come out on top?

Patriots vs Packers Highlights

The New England Patriots have always been somewhat of an enigma. Even when they were seemingly going to the AFC Championship every season, few understood how Coach Belichick was running the show, which is even more mysterious this year. Who will call offensive plays? Who is actually on the staff? Will Mac Jones make the leap? This road trip to Green Bay might be the perfect test for this โ€˜newโ€™ Patriots team, with Mac Jones facing Aaron Rodgers for the first time.

The Packers spent the off-season of the last two years wondering what the mindset of Aaron Rodgers was. Questionable opinions about infectious disease aside, the signal caller made it clear his future was up in the air and sought certain assurances from the front office. The signing of their MVP QB should be a cause for optimism, but there is concern that the loss of Davante Adams and the failure to replace him in either the draft or free agency means that the Super Bowl is further away than it was a year ago.

These two teams have only played against each other 12 times, with the overall series tied 6-6. However, the Pack did defeat the Pats in Super Bowl 31, in Brett Favreโ€™s only championship win. The last meeting was in 2018, when the Pats beat Green Bay 31-17.

If you are betting on the NFL in Week 4, how do you play it? Expect this one to be tight, but it seems sensible to back the hometown Packers to get a W against Bill Belichick and Mac Jones.
