Arizona Cardinals History

The Arizona Cardinals are one of the oldest football teams in football, established in 1898 and joined the NFL when it was created in 1920. The Cardinals first played in Chicago from 1920 to 1959 when they moved to St. Louis until 1987, when they finally moved to Phoenix/Arizona. The team kept the same name, the Cardinals, in each one of their stops. Despite the team’s long history, the Cardinals team stats are not what you would expect. They won two NFL Championships before the AFL-NFL merger in 1970 and have appeared in one Super Bowl since.

Larry Fitzgerald is one of the cornerstone players in the Arizona Cardinals team stats. The wide receiver played all 17 seasons with the team, the focal point of the team’s offense that made it to the 2008 Super Bowl.
