Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans were founded as the Houston Oilers in 1960 as part of the AFL. They won the first two championships in the AFL, their only championship wins. The AFL-NFL merger brought the then Oilers into the NFL. In 1997, the team moved to Tennessee, briefly becoming the Tennessee Oilers for two seasons before changing the team’s name to the Titans. In the first season as the Titans, they made it to the Super Bowl but lost in heartbreaking fashion, falling one yard short of the game-tying touchdown as time expired.

Most of the Titans’ team stats are focused from 1987 to early 2004, when the team made the playoffs 11 times. During that time, the Tennessee Titans team stats feature the success of quarterbacks Warren Moon and Steve McNair, along with running back Eddie George.
