Aaron Rodgers Won’t Play Again in 2023, Go Figure…
Jets’ QB Confirmed That He Isn’t 100% Healthy to Play This Season

Until Next Season…
Despite just playing a handful of plays this season, Aaron Rodgers has been able to stay in the news cycle consistently. He tore his Achilles in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, which is an injury that almost always keeps players out for the entire season.
Rodgers thought he could defy science and make a return this season but that’s officially off the table based on recent NFL news.
“If I was 100% today, I’d be pushing to play, but the fact is, I’m not,” Rodgers said recently on The Pat McAfee Show. “I’ve been working hard to get closer to that, but I’m still 14 weeks, tomorrow, from my surgery, and being medically cleared as 100% healed is just not realistic at 14 weeks.”
The New York Jets have been eliminated from the NFL playoffs so there’s no reason for Rodgers to risk making his injury worse. Let’s be honest, there’s no way a 40-year-old who has a torn Achilles was going to be able to play in NFL games within just a few months.

I’m actually a Rodgers fan but I don’t know why this whole saga was necessary. Maybe he could’ve been able to play if the Jets were in playoff contention but I’m dubious. Everybody knew their Super Bowl hopes were dead the second Rodgers went down with an injury. It just seems dumb for him to spread NFL rumors for essentially no reason.
Luckily for the Jets, it doesn’t sound like Rodgers has any plans to retire yet. He was recently taken off Injured Reserve so that he can start practicing with the team. That will give him a head start on getting ready for next season.
I’m sure people will start hyping up the Jets as Super Bowl contenders next season but they need to get that offensive line in order. If I’m general manager Joe Douglas, I’m using all of my draft picks on wide receivers and offensive linemen this offseason.
“I’ve got a great relationship with Aaron.”

This season has been a nightmare for Zach Wilson. He was supposed to get a year to sit behind and learn from Rodgers. He was once again thrust into a starting role and has struggled mightily. The Jets have an elite defense but Wilson just couldn’t get the offense to score points. New York needs to make sure they have a better backup plan next year in case Rodgers gets hurt again.
