Bronny James’ Impressive NBA Combine Stats

Bronny’s Incredible Performance at the NBA Combine Could Be the Key to Securing His NBA Draft Selection

The Prince Has Arrived 👑

Bronny James is expected to stay in the 2024 NBA Draft… –

On Monday, NBA teams got an initial up-close look at USC guard Bronny James, LeBron James’ son at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine in Chicago.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Adrian Wojnarowski and Jonathan Givony from ESPN reported that the league’s Fitness to Play Panel gave the go-ahead to James to participate in the NBA Combine.

This addressed one concern that had been raised with James due to his cardiac arrest episode last summer.

Bronny James’ Results

James, who played for USC last season, was among the prospects with the most on the line. The 19-year-old guard’s draft projection is unclear, to say the least. However, one of the measurements immediately stood out.

James’ 40.5-inch vertical jump is also impressive.

According to Dan Woike from the Los Angeles Times, James’ standing vertical was 32 inches. And James Wasserman from Bleacher Report was impressed by James’s performance in the 3-point shooting drill.

“Bronny just went a full minute and 15 seconds without missing in a movement shooting drill, which is also a test for conditioning, shooting when tired. Impressive stuff here.”

James was deemed to be 6-foot-1.5 (“6’1.50”) tall without shoes. That height is noticeably lower than the 6-foot-4 James is listed as on his USC bio page. USC possibly measured James with shoes on.

The NBA, however. standardized how each player’s height is determined years ago. A 6-foot-1.5 height makes James undersized as an NBA point guard.

Wasserman explained that “there should be a more consensus feeling after getting to watch him (James) drill and scrimmage at the NBA Combine.”

James’ measurements didn’t make for a great first impression, but his 3-point shooting drill results could help his draft spot.

According to Shams Charania from The Athletic and Stadium, James is expected to stay in the 2024 NBA Draft pool.

“Sources: Bronny James is expected to stay in the 2024 NBA Draft. The USC freshman has been fully cleared to play in the league as part of Fitness to Play panel and will participate in all pre-draft activities starting with the Draft Combine this week.”

Is Bronny James NBA-Ready?

Let’s get serious here! I liked what I saw from James on Monday, and I know that he missed some games last season, but he’s not NBA-ready!

Just look at the Bronny James stats. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 19.4 minutes over 25 games with USC, shooting 36.6% from the field, 26.7% from 3-point range, and 67.6% from the free-throw line.

I don’t want to say it but we all know why James could end up in the NBA next season with awful numbers in college like that!

The NBA is a different world! The league’s level is unreal and teams are loaded with talent! There aren’t enough spots in NBA teams for players like John Wall, Kemba Walker, DeMarcus Cousins, Dwight Howard, Trey Burke, Kendrick Nunn, Will Barton, Dion Waiters, and Tyreke Evans, to name a few.

And all of them would be important role players on any team right now, not James.

Don’t get me wrong, James can be a valuable NBA role player one day, just not next season. He should have stayed in college one more year!
