Making History
Iowa women’s basketball will never be the same after this season because Caitlin Clark is dribbling out of Iowa City and into the WNBA. If you haven’t heard, the 6’0” Hawkeyes point guard recently became the most celebrated scorer in women’s college basketball history with 3,650 points.
She has one more regular season game left to surpass Pete Maravich’s 3,667 points as the all-time college basketball leader regardless of gender.

Caitlin Clark’s stats are eye-popping, currently averaging 32.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game. This is not a 6’10” forward who towers over her opponents and can make easy, uncontested layups.
No, Clark is a free-wheeling, slick-passing, deadly-shooting assassin who lights up the scoreboard with regularity and makes all her teammates better simply because she’s on the court.

Although the 22-year-old Clark did have one more year of college eligibility due to the COVID-19 shortened season in 2020, she has decided that she’s done all she can do at the collegiate level and announced on social media that she is leaving Iowa to pursue a professional basketball career.
Clark wrote the following:
“Hawkye nation, while this season is far from over and we have a lot more goals to achieve, it will be my last one at Iowa. I am excited to be entering the 2024 WNBA Draft.”
What’s Next?
It won’t be long before Clark is making WNBA news as the No. 1 overall pick in the draft on April 15th in New York City. There she will become a member of the Indiana Fever and it is pointless to discuss the possibility that another will be chosen.
Clark is not only a generational talent but her legacy precedes her which is why every game in which she plays is sold out, whether it’s home or away.
The Indiana Fever will not only be getting an MVP candidate before she even plays a minute as a pro but also a gate-busting attraction whose mere presence will increase attendance all over the league and bring attention to a game that is often overlooked by the public.

If you want to watch a basketball game and take a shot at the craps table, get your tickets to the Fever’s season opener on May 14th at the Mohegan Sun Casino as they take on the Connecticut Sun in Uncasville, CT. It will be Caitlin Clark’s next chapter and you won’t want to miss it!
