Is Alexandre Sarr a Lock for the First Pick of the NBA Draft?
The 7-Foot French Prospect Presents a Unique Skill Set and Athletic Abilities

French 7-footer player: The Hype is Real 🤩
The Atlanta Hawks picked a bad year to get the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft. This is considered one of the weaker draft classes in recent years, according to NBA news. However, there are plenty of solid players in the class.

It’s looking more and more like French 7-footer Alexandre Sarr will be the first player picked. If that were to happen, it would be the first time in NBA history that European players were the No. 1 picks in back-to-back drafts. Fellow French 7-footer Victor Wembanyama was the No. 1 pick last year. Sarr isn’t close to the same level of prospect but he’s athletic and could develop into a very good player.
While Sarr is the favorite to go No. 1, he’s not a lock. Zaccharie Risacher, who is also French, could also go No. 1 based on NBA rumors. Regardless, it looks like a European has a very strong chance to be the first pick, which further shows how Europe is taking over the NBA.

Will Hawks Trade No. 1 Pick?
This would be an ideal year to trade away a first-round pick. There are no guaranteed stars in the class and teams would be better off trying to trade away their picks. However, it’s hard to imagine Atlanta would get some great haul.
With so many teams wanting to trade out of this draft, there won’t be a lot of teams willing to give up assets to get the No. 1 pick. The Hawks were a year too late. If they had the No. 1 pick last year, it would’ve been one of the most valuable assets in the history of the NBA.

The value of the pick is much lower this year. The Hawks might be in a bit of a rebuild if they trade Trae Young this offseason so adding Risacher or Sarr to build around isn’t a terrible idea. Just because the draft looks bad now doesn’t mean it won’t look like a great class once these players start playing NBA games.
