Raiders Fire Head Coach Josh McDaniels & Bench Jimmy G
Are the Raiders Taking Out the Trash or Just Creating an Even Bigger Mess?

Out With Old, In With the New
In the latest installment of breaking NFL news while you were sleeping, the Raiders fired head coach Josh McDaniels, OC Mick Lombardi, and general manager Dave Ziegler. No word yet if owner Mark Davis will fire his dreadful haircut.

As it turns out, losing 16 games just 14 months into the job gives you a great chance to get fired. The Raiders were tied for last in the AFC West in the NFL standings.
Not sure what is more sad: that the firings took place while most of America was sleeping, or during the final hours of Halloween in Vegas.
So Josh McDaniels definitely showed up to the company Halloween party with the Mark Davis haircut right

The Raiders were looking to expand their payroll of fired head coaches as the team will now be paying McDaniel, Jon Gruden and their future head coach. Davis had this elaborate response when ESPN asked him about the firings.
“No comment at this time,” Davis said.
I get it bro. That sugar crash is real and once you get to the seventh pack of Skittles it is anyone’s guess how the night ends. For now, linebackers coach Antonio Pierce will serve as the Raiders interim head coach. Assistant general manager Champ Kelly gets the interim tag in place of Ziegler as well.

The Raiders Also Fired the OC & Benched Jimmy G
Las Vegas did not stop there as the team also fired offensive coordinator Mick Lombardi. The Raiders also announced veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been benched in favor of rookie Aidan O’Connell.
It’s starting to feel like if you go into the office today in Vegas, there’s a good chance you get canned. Might be a good day to call in sick and check out Stadium Swim.
Jimmy Garoppolo was tied to McDaniels and Ziegler, so it’s no surprise that he heads to the bench and rookie Aidan O’Connell will get the start for the Raiders Sunday against the Giants. It’s a midseason reboot.

Perhaps the former Purdue signal-caller will emerge as the team’s QB of the future, but all signs point to the tank for Caleb Williams being on. The challenge is the Raiders would have the No. 8 pick if the 2024 NFL Draft took place today.
This would likely take Las Vegas out of the running for Williams or Drake Maye. Like all the great motivational speakers always say, you got a lot of losing left to do in NFL games, Raiders.
Me when the Raiders draft Drake Maye or Caleb Williams this offseason:

When Are Raiders Hiring a New Coach?
Raiders fans are going to have to wait a while until things are resolved. Las Vegas does not plan to conduct a full coaching and general manager search until after the NFL season. This means there is plenty of time for NFL rumors to percolate about the Raiders’ future.
“The Raiders named linebackers coach Antonio Pierce as their interim head coach,” ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez wrote on November 1. “The team also said that current assistant general manager Champ Kelly will serve as interim GM.
“In announcing those promotions, the organization said it is committed to undergoing ‘a comprehensive search” for a head coach and general manager “once the season is complete.’”
