Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift continue to headline NFL news . This time, it is more about Swift’s indirect impact on the season by helping increase the league’s popularity and her boyfriend’s bottom line.
One of Kelce’s game-used jerseys just sold for nearly $37,000. The auctioneer is arguing that the power of Swifties is even being felt in the memorabilia business.
“This is an all-time record for a Travis Kelce game-used item,” said Golden Auctions owner, Ken Goldin. “He has always been popular but the success of the Chiefs, as well as the publicity he’s gotten around his relationship with Taylor Swift , has added to his popularity and awareness among collectors.”
Should Chiefs Fans Be Pro-Taylor Swift?
Now, for the age-old question: should Chiefs fans be in favor of this recent development of Kelce’s love life? There is little evidence that Kelce’s play has dropped off since dating Swift.

In fact, the Chiefs just lost their first game with Swift in attendance. Kansas City is 4-1 when Swift pulls up to games this NFL season.
Earlier this season, Kelce posted a season-best 12 receptions for 179 yards and a touchdown against the Chargers with Swift smiling from a suite. The Chiefs are doing just fine in the NFL standings as the No. 3 seed in the AFC at 8-4. Heading into Week 14, Kansas City sits atop the AFC West standings.

For years, the NFL has tried unsuccessfully to get Swift to headline a Super Bowl halftime show. Swift is still a hard no, but the league could get a boost with Swift’s attendance if the Chiefs make it to Vegas this February.
“ Taylor is busy with her current tour, she has zero time to prepare a Super Bowl show, she will do it eventually, but she is in no rush at all to do it in Vegas or do it in the next couple of years,” one Swift insider told Daily Mail.
It is understandable why many football fans are reluctant about Swift’s increasing presence during NFL games. Yet, if the pop icon can bring even more people to the sport, why is this a bad thing?

Ratings, ticket sales, Kelce’s jersey purchases, and overall interest in the league have been way up since Swift dropped by Arrowhead Stadium in September. Sure, the constant cutaways to the suite can be annoying, but it is growing the sport.
