Inter Milan Stats History

Football Club Internazionale Milan was founded in 1908 as a breakaway club from the Milan Cricket and Football Club, now A.C. Milan. Inter’s name comes from their want to accept international players, as well as Italians. They won their first title in 1910 and a second ten years later.

Inter’s third and fourth Scudettos came in 1930 and 1938. The Nerazzurri also won their first Coppa Italia in 1938-39, led by the legendary Giuseppe Meazza. The Stadio San Siro is officially named after Meazza, who leads one of the most important Inter Milan team stats. Meazza scored a ridiculous 284 goals in 243 games for Inter and is their all-time leading scorer.

The Nerazzurri also won Serie A in 1940 and a pair of Scudettos in the 50s. With the appointment of manager Helenio Herrea and signing of European Player of the Year Luis Suarez Miramontes, Inter became one of the best teams in Europe.

Inter won three of four Serie A titles from 1962 to 1966 and reached glory on the European stage. One of the most notable Inter team stats is the fact that they won back-to-back European Cups in 1964 and 1965.

The trophies weren’t as frequent in the 70s and 80s. However, Inter still managed to win a Scudetto and Coppa Italia in both decades. However, Inter failed to win a domestic trophy for the duration of the 90s but won the UEFA Cup in 1991, 1994 and 1998.

Under Roberto Mancini, Inter won the 2005 Coppa Italia, which was their first domestic trophy since 1982. Inter were retrospectively awarded the 2006 Serie A title, given the match fixing scandal that relegated Juventus. This started a run of five consecutive Serie A titles.

Inter won the Champions League under Jose Mourinho in 2010, one of their best recent achievements. The Nerazzurri have gotten off to a good start in the 2020s, with a Serie A title and Coppa Italia title. They are one of the most successful Italian teams and their Serie A odds are consistently popular for betting. As of July 2022, preseason betting advice implies they have the best chance to win Serie A in 2022-23.
