Udinese Stats History

Udinese Calcio was founded in 1896 and they first took part in official FIGC competition in 1912-13. They made the Coppa Italia final in 1922 but lost 1-0 to Vado.

Relegated in 1923, Udinese played in the second division, but were promoted one season later. Udinese moved around divisions during this time and fell into the third tier when Serie A and Serie B were created in 1929.

The 1930s and 40s were characterized by divisional movements for Udinese but they weren’t able to make it to the top flight. That changed in 1950, as they scored one of their most historic Udinese stats.

Udinese’s first spell in Serie A lasted five years and they almost managed a historic title in 1955. However, they finished second to A.C. Milan and were relegated due to an exposed scandal from two years prior.

The Friulani spent one season in Serie B and immediately earned promotion back to Serie A. Their best finish during that period was fourth place but they suffered a long decline afterward. Starting in 1963, Udinese spent 15 years in the third tier and wouldn’t return to Serie A until 1980.

They won a minor European trophy, the Mitropa Cup just as the 80s began and finished in sixth place in 1983. However, Udinese were relegated 1987 after being penalized nine points for a betting scandal.

Now, Udinese have been in Serie A for over 25 years and they frequently played in European competition during the 2000s. They managed to win the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2000.

One of the most notable Udinese stats, goals, is led by Antonio Di Natale. Di Natale scored 227 goals for the club and was their leading scorer in eight of nine seasons between 2006-07 and 2014-15.

Udinese finished in third in 2011-12 but have declined since then. They haven’t qualified for European competition for nearly a decade and their highest finish since 2013 is 12th. Betting advice suggests Udinese are improving as they finished with a positive goal differential for the first time in nine years in 2022-23.

The Friulani are one of the teams least likely to win the Serie A in 2023. According to the Serie A odds, they’re priced at +75000 to win the Scudetto.
