They managed the first major tournament qualification in the FC Copenhagen stats in the 1992-93 season. Copenhagen finished in first place in their group in the 1992 Intertoto Cup, which earned them UEFA Cup qualification. FC Copenhagen won their first Danish Superliga title in the 1992-93 season and were placed in the Champions League qualifiers. However, they lost to AC Milan in the second round 7-0, on aggregate.
Over the next few seasons, FCK underachieved in the league, but won Danish Cups in 1995 and 1997. Under English manager Roy Hodgson in 2001, they added their second Superliga title to the FC Kobenhavn team stats. In the final match of the season, vs. Copenhagen area rivals Brondby, Sibusiso Zuma scored an incredible bicycle kick. It was voted the Superliga goal of the decade in 2009.
FC Copenhagen won their first domestic double in 2004, with Superliga and Danish Cup wins. After winning the Superliga again in 2006, F.C. Copenhagen progressed to the Champions League group stage for the first time in their history. They picked up a historic 1-0 win over Manchester United at the Parken Stadium, but finished last place in their group.
