Real Valladolid Stats & History
The merger of Real Unión Deportiva de Valladolid and Club Deportivo Español founded Real Valladolid in 1928. The first top-flight season in the Real Valladolid stats was 1948-49. In 1950, Valladolid reached their first Copa del Rey final but fell 4-1 to Athletic Bilbao.
Over the next fifteen years, Valladolid were regulars in La Liga and finished fourth in 1962-63. They suffered a decline in the late 60s and ended up in the third tier by 1970. Within ten years, though, they returned to La Liga. The only major trophy in the Real Valladolid stats is the 1984 Copa de la Liga. This competition was only contested from 1982-86, so Valladolid were one of just three unique winners. Valladolid then played in the UEFA Cup in 1984 but lost in the first round.
The 1988-89 season was particularly a good one for Valladolid as they finished sixth and made the Copa del Rey final. With Real Madrid, the winners, already playing in UEFA Competition, Real Valladolid took their place in the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup. Valladolid managed to reach the quarterfinals before going out to Monaco.

Real Valladolid FC Team Records
Valladolid were relegated in 1992 but managed to return after one season. This time around, Real Valladolid had 11 years in La Liga but were a mid-table club at best. Since relegation in 2004, Real Valladolid have bounced around the top two tiers of Spanish soccer.
Brazilian legend and former Real Madrid and Barcelona player Ronaldo Nazario purchased the club in 2018. Relegated to the Segunda Division after the 2020-21 season, Valladolid finished second in 2021-22. So, 2022-23 will be the fourth season in the last five that they spend in the top flight.
Betting advice recommends being wary of Valladolid as in their last three La Liga seasons, no player has scored more than eight goals. The La Liga odds imply they could be a mid-to-low table team this season. They’re priced at +3300 odds to make the top four.
