Liverpool vs United Betting Game Preview Analysis

The Premier League table is starting to take shape as we head down to the season’s stretch run. There will be serious implications in both the title race and race for the top-4 Saturday as per the game between Liverpool vs United. The Reds are trying to stay within striking distance of Manchester City at the top of the table. However, they’re playing a motivated Hammers team that has top-4 and a place in next season’s Champions League within their grasp. Liverpool were 2-1 winners over Norwich City in a midweek FA Cup match.

Liverpool is six points behind Man City at the top of the English Premier League table. However, the Reds have a game in hand, potentially putting them within three of the leaders with a head-to-head match remaining on the schedule. Jurgen Klopp’s team has won its last six Premier League matches, including a 6-0 blowout of Leeds prior to last weekend’s Carabao Cup penalty-shootout win over Chelsea.

West Ham United aren;t quite as hot as Liverpool, although the Hammers are playing with high stakes these days. They sit in fifth place with 11 games left to play, just two points behind Manchester United in fourth, albeit with a few other teams also in the top-4 chase. Despite settling for a pair of draws, the Hammers were also unbeaten in their four Premier League February matches.

While things appear to be going well for West Ham United right now, they head to Anfield this weekend as serious underdogs with a moneyline around +760. Naturally, Liverpool has a moneyline of -357 while a draw is set at +440. That potentially gives the Hammers a lot of value if they can pull off a win.

The problem with that thinking is that Liverpool’s attack has been close to unstoppable. As mentioned, they scored six goals in their last Premier League match against Leeds and now lead the Premier League with 70 goals. Three players have already surpassed 10 Premier League goals this season, including Mohamed Salah, who leads the Reds with 19.

The Liverpool defense has been nearly as impressive this season, allowing the third-fewest goals in Premier League play. During their four Premier League matches last month, the Reds kept three clean sheets. If Liverpool have a potential weakness, it could be the Reds being distracted by a looming Champions League battle with Inter Milan Tuesday.

Of course, the Hammers won’t be intimidated by Liverpool after beating the Redsm 3-2, in November. Granted, the Hammers only had 31% possession in that game, making the most of their opportunities. While they don’t have the world-class attackers Liverpool possesses, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio have eight Premier League goals this season, with the Hammers scoring the fourth-most goals.

The bottom line for West Ham is they will need to find a way to slow down Liverpool’s attack if they hope to get a desired result in this match. Despite keeping three clean sheets in their last seven Premier League matches, the Hammers have been a little vulnerable against the better teams. That could hinder West Ham’s chances.
