After 208 days of offseason, the much-anticipated return of America’s Game begins with a Thursday night matchup between two of the 2023 season’s most promising forces (Bills vs Rams). With Sunday providing all but two of the opening games, all eyes and NFL week 1 betting odds are on the teams looking to stake their claim for America’s most coveted prize.
Week 1 of the NFL is one of the most highly-anticipated weeks of the year. Everyone feels good about their team and the moves they made in the offseason. This year is no different.
In the first game of the season, we have the Buffalo Bills taking on the defending Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams. It was the Rams’ second trip to the Super Bowl in the last four seasons. After losing 13-3 to the New England Patriots in 2019, the Rams ran it back with Jared Goff before trading him for Matthew Stafford prior to the start of last season. This time, the Rams took care of business with Stafford at the helm.
Meanwhile the Bills are coming off a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in what may be the most entertaining playoff game of all time. After a loss in overtime, it prompted the NFL to change the rule to where both teams get at least one possession of the football. The spread is deadlocked at a pick ‘em.

Week 1’s early Sunday games see the introduction of Baker Mayfield to his new audience at Carolina, with NFL Week 1 odds going against a Cleveland Browns team facing unwanted suspension news. Attention then turns to the Minnesota Vikings, who host their divisional rivals in the Green Bay Packers, with Aaron Rodgers looking to use a diminished receiving corps after the departure of 2-time All-Pro receiver Devante Adams.
The pace continues in the late games, which see the return of Tom Brady after an offseason of speculation concerning his retirement. Unlike his long-time weapon of choice, Rob Gronkowski, the GOAT returns with the Buccaneers for another shot at the Lombardi and faces tough opposition on the road at Dallas, with NFL Week 1 odds reflecting that.
The season’s opening Monday Night Football finds the Seahawks adjusting to life without Russell Wilson for the first time in over a decade, with their opponents being the Denver Broncos and their new field general… Russell Wilson.
With the Seahawks opting for Drew Lock as a replacement for Wilson, NFL Week 1 odds are in the Bronco’s favor, strengthened by the offensive promise of Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton as well as the experience of Melvin Gordon.
