Tennis US Open

One name stands above the rest and that’s Serena Williams. She won six titles during her glittering career and she was often at short odds to get it done.

US Open tennis odds would always have Williams at a short quote because she was so consistent. Her most recent win came in 2014 when winning in straight sets over Caroline Wozniacki.

Steffi Graf is another big-time winner of five titles. She dominated in the late 80s and 90s and she deserves to be number two on the list.

Kim Clijsters is a three-time winner and she won all three titles in straight sets. She goes on the list as a tenacious player who didn’t divulge into the flashy world of many tennis stars.

Martina Navratilova was a grand slam superstar. The Russian-born American won four singles titles and many more in doubles and mixed doubles. She was the player of her generation.

We can’t leave out Australian Margaret Court, who won five times. She was a stunning player during the 60s and 70’s and has been immortalised in the world of tennis.

Three players separate themselves from the rest. Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are three of the  tennis best players of all time.

Djokovic has three US Open wins and is playing better than the other two at the moment. Nadal also has three wins, which is an excellent record given his best surface is clay.

However, they don’t compare to Federer, who won five consecutive titles from 2004-2008 in a stunning era of tennis. He wasn’t able to win any more since but the Swiss master made his mark on the US Open.

Another legend of the game is American Pete Sampras, who won five titles in the 1990s and 2002. He made the tournament his own during that period and had many great battles with fellow American Andre Agassi.

The fifth player we’re adding to the list is Ivan Lendl, who won on three consecutive occasions in the 80s. Lendl has since become a quality coach for many top-level players.
