Boxing: Bulgarian Favored With Chisora vs Pulev Odds

The Heavyweights Clash at the O2

Chisora vs Pulev odds has the Bulgarian as the firm favorite to beat England’s Derek Chisora, who could be nearing the end of his career.

Kubrat Pulev had his chance to win four world championship belts against Anthony Joshua but came up short, so he’s looking to avenge the loss against the always-tough Chisora.

For the local hope, he’s trying to extend his career after suffering 12 losses throughout his long tenure.

It’s Now or Never for Chisora

The aging Chisora lost to Oleksandr Usyk and Joseph Parker, so it’s now or never for the British boxer.

He is 32-12, but the 12 losses are what have us concerned. He consistently loses the big fights, including against Agit Kabayel and Dillian Whyte, which could have propelled him back up the rankings for another title shot.

To continue competing in the heavyweight division, he must reverse the split decision loss against Pulev in 2016, which could play on his mind. Chisora is +220 with Chisora vs Pulev odds to turn that result around and get his revenge.

Despite talks of retirement, Chisora says he still enjoys it and believes he’s a better boxer than Pulev.

“I enjoy it, it’s lovely. I enjoy training, I enjoy fighting, the whole promotion, that’s all,” Chisora told DAZN. “When I don’t enjoy it, I’ll announce my retirement.

“I want to outbox this guy. I’m a better boxer than him.“It’s a great fight. It’s going to be amazing.

“He’s a big guy, but he doesn’t have the hunger anymore. I can tell.”

Boxing betting odds have Chisora at value odds but he needs to turn his form around and show the world that he means business.

Pulev on Comeback Trail

Pulev scored an easy win in his most recent fight, which was a solid comeback after a tough loss to Joshua.

His career could have gone to new heights with the victory but now he’s on the comeback trail to potentially get one more title shot.

After being knocked to the canvas four times against Joshua, we wouldn’t have blamed the 41-year-old for shutting up shop, however, he recovered with a victory over Jerry Forrest earlier this year and his comeback might continue against Chisora.

His defeats against Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko were to be expected and that’s evident in Chisora vs Pulev odds. He is the -280 to notch another win, so if you want to bet on boxing fights this weekend, you’ll need to take short odds.

Keep in mind, there is better value with Pulev to win by decision. Chisora doesn’t get knocked out all that often, despite his 12 losses, and Pulev doesn’t have as much power as he used to.

Chisora has come to the tail-end of his career and he didn’t show many fights in two losses to Parker. That’s a concern, so we agree with the Chisora vs Pulev odds and we’re taking the favorite to emerge victorious.
