The Detroit Red Wings (26-18-5, 57 points) are fulfilling expectations as they hold on to the last wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. With a win, they can gingerly move into the first wild-card spot although the Maple Leafs will own three games in hand. They also will tie the Tampa Bay Lightning for the third spot in the Atlantic Division.
Opening NHL odds have the Red Wings as a -125 favorite with a total of 7 (under -115) but bettors have jumped on the underdog Senators (+105) and the under, bringing our current number to Detroit -115 (7 under -125). The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT.

Bettors Can Count On Senators’ Effort
The Ottawa Senators may be in another zip code when it comes to the other teams that are going to make a serious run at the Stanley Cup playoffs, but bettors and interim head coach Jacques Martin know that this team continues to play hard with Tuesday being another example of that.
