UFC Fight Night Betting Preview
Saturday's Undercard in Las Vegas Stacked
Bettors are spoiled for choice on Saturday as the undercard is packed with excellent fights. Our UFC Fight Night betting preview looks at the four undercard fights.
Included on the undercard are Clay Guida vs Claudio Puelles, Maycee Barber vs Montana De La Rosa, and the highly anticipated Alexandr Romanov vs Chase Sherman.
Clay Guida vs Claudio Puelles
There has been strong money for Clay Guida. Despite facing a tough and younger opponent in Claudio Puelles, he is one of our best bets for UFC Fight Night.
Guida has produced some good results of late and his experience could be enough to get the better of Puelles.
The challenger has been confident when talking with the media throughout the week. He is 12-2 and comes off back-to-back wins, but he hasn’t faced someone with the credentials of Guida.
It all comes down to Guida’s attitude as a 40-year-old fighter, but given the betting support that has seen his odds firm from -115 to -120, we’re in Guida’s camp.
Maycee Barber vs Montana De La Rosa
Most of the early betting support has come for Barber and our UFC Fight Night betting preview sees her winning.
However, we don’t think it’ll be an easy victory for the American. She has struggled with consistency throughout her UFC career and her UFC Fight Night betting odds of -190 are short.
She has a slight edge in power, which she showed when knocking out consecutive opponents in 2019. Barber is also a crafty fighter, so De La Rosa will be forced to close the gap.
De La Rosa is 12-6-1, so consistency has also been a problem. The underdog will need to be at her best to beat Barber, so we expect the favorite to get the job done.
Alexandr Romanov vs Chase Sherman
We have liked betting on Sherman throughout his career, but this isn’t one of those occasions.
“The Vanilla Gorilla” is 15-9, but is likely to record double-digit losses against Alexandr Romanov, who is tearing through the opposition.
Romanov is 15-0 and has shown excellent power and wrestling. The former wrestler from Moldova is a rising star in the heavyweight division and he’s only getting fitter and better with age.
His physique has improved significantly since arriving in the UFC, which makes him a potential UFC heavyweight title contender in the coming years.
He is the current -2500 favorite to beat Sherman, which is about as short as you’ll see a fighter in this sport. Taking those odds comes at risk because Sherman could land a big blow, but Romanov could be on another level.
Lando Vannata vs Charles Jourdain
It’s not the most exciting fight on the UFC Fight Night betting preview, but it should be a closely fought contest.
There isn’t much difference between Lando Vannata and Charles Jourdain, so finding a betting angle isn’t easy. However, we’re picking Jourdain to get the judges’ decision.
Despite being the smaller fighter, the Canadian packs some power and he could have the fitness edge over Vannata, who is heavier.
Jourdain also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, so he has those credentials up his sleeve.
Bettors get value odds and Jourdain should give them a good sight.
